Am I allowed to mention a camera store's name?

I am in the market for the Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro, and the cheapest place I have found is an online webstore I have never used before.

I know the rules state "As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden", but the store in question sells solely camera gear, no computer stuff whasoever.

Can I ask along the lines of:
"Ive seen this lens for £xxx at www.... has anyone used em before/are they a reliable company etc?"

If a mod needs the link to check it out I can mail it if needed.

OCuk sells cameras as well, albiet not DSLRs. I would have thought since you're asking specifically about a certain lens it should be ok but I guess since the other site would probably sell the cameras that OCuk sell then it would be in competition and not be allowed. but I'm sure a mod will clear up the matter

Unfortunately photography companies are classed as competitors, so no you can't mention them.

you could let us know how you find the item and then we can go ahead and try and see if we can find where you would be talking about.

e.g. searching on google shopping for the item in the op i have found the cheapest to be for £225.10, the site is in white and looks pretty plain. there is a great logo at the top left of the site etc.

is this the site you mean?

I did something similar ages ago with a well known high street shop and it was frowned upon

In the end I got it for £229:99 from a site that has a couple of full page ads in a few of the photo mags I have, and they also have a link on the Sigma UK website, so Im happy that they are quite legit
