Hargreaves, meanwhile, is class, but is also pushing that long-term level of injury that people won't want to take risks with. I wouldn't value Rosicky as anything decent now, because while he might have been good, he's also been absent for aaaaaages.

one season doesnt mean a jot - yes its difficult, but certainly a load of other players have come back from a season out and carried on for years to come

there is no reason to believe why Hargreaves wont ever play again at the highest level with a good 5 years plus easily on his career

What utter tripe from Arsenal. They couldn't put up any decent challenge and gave united probably the easiest pass to a final they have ever had. For a Neutral, it wasn't great to watch.

Just need Barca through now to make the final interesting. We don't want a repeat of last year.

Fletcher didn't clear the ball though, had Fabregas not been floored he would've still had possession and probably scored bar the keeper saving it.

I mean if Fletcher had touched the ball and then held Fabregas from getting to it first it would have been a foul, so why is momentum from the original tackle any different?

how exactly would fabregas still have had possession?

I really hope Chelsea don't go through, Man Utd Chelsea final will be hideously boring...

Shame the young lad slipped for that first goal tonight because Arsenal really started the game well and after Man Utd got that away goal it was game over tbh

?

Ronaldo had a knee in his thigh! It was a free kick every day of the week. It doesn't matter what Ronaldo did after the foul.

I wish people understood the game!

I wish people had brains, TOURE got a yellow for that foul, Eboue got a yellow for putting his leg between Park's, he made contact with his right leg AFTER park was already on his way down. Either way Toure made other fouls in the game, it was Eboue's first foul from what I recall and it was tame to say the least.

Likewise for all the people talking about buying experience, we don't need to. Wenger just needs to stop being a complete ****. WE've had defence problems with injuries for years, this is the first year we looked like we had similar depth to other clubs, 2 first team and 2 reserve, so he sends Senderos off, who is far far better than Djourou. Its suicidal. Likewise we could play one of many players in the DM role, we picked two non DM's to play their all year who both lack any ability to do what the position entails, Eboue, maybe CLichy, Gibbs(who plays there somewhat often for the reserves and for England), Toure as he was vastly underused early season. Again upfront, he relies on ADebayor despite his inability to play , well, football. Eduardo is brilliant, RVP has been great all year considering he's got a bunch of goals and played alongside a useless ****. Vela has shown he's been good and hasn't played recently for no apparent reason. Bendtner was better than Theo and Ade combined tonight, yet constantly gets dropped and plays a different position every game. Theo is not even close to a winger, but a great striker.

IN other words, we have TONNES of players who are all good enough, Wenger just randomly and consistantly plays our 4 worst players for no reason. Every time he drops them or moves them to less important positions we play like we did at the weekend, with an offence that can create goals.

Injuries have played very little part in our season, Fabregas is our only starter according to Wengers usual selection. Eddies been back but barely gets a game, Rosicky wouldn't start ahead of Arshavin, Nasri or Theo(if wenger was choosing the team). Fabregas is the only guy Wenger would pick consistantly whose been injured long term this year.

Theres no excuses, we have the players, injuries weren't remotely as bad as made out, we have the money, we have the ability, the manager has lost his balls, constantly plays this defensive crap formation and plays our worst players.

Back to the original topic, good performance from United but as a United fan i had to feel sorry for young Gibbs for getting the hook at half time, that cant have been good for him.

Turning my support to Chelsea now hoping we can make it an all english final for the 2nd year in a row and really put the wind up Platini.

Personally I don't think losing Fletcher is that big a deal. Rooney and Evra got through unscathed and they are both more important. With Carrick and Anderson in there, there is easily room to slot in Giggs or Scholes.

MU are spoilt for choice at the moment due to their lack of injuries and will fancy their chances against whoever they meet in the final.

On the Gibbs note it was good to see RvP putting his arm round him after the first goal, a bit of spirit there (one game recently, literally the whole team went to celebrate in the opposition half except Gibbs and the keeper, I wondered if he was feeling a bit left out!)

yeah gibbs and arsenal were unlucky as they did start well. not going to complain though heh.

Can't believe you want chelsea to win tomorrow. United vs Barca will make winning it even more special for us. Platini already has the wind up him after we all made it to the quarters/semi's....

im actually really looking forward to next season already as a utd fan, i wish we had no signed berba and had signed tevez as i would have loved to see a midfield / forward line of

carrick --- Hargreaves ---- Anderson

Ronaldo ---- Tevez ----- Rooney

tha would have been awesome with the amount of running / energy and sheer harassment that line up would cause :p

If Chelsea get through tomorrow then it would be 2 consecutive years that an English side has not been knocked out of the CL by a European side.

Exactly, hence my reason for wanting Chelsea to stuff the golden boys at Barca with [Xavi mode] Cry cry dirty football [/Xavi mode].

Latecomer to the thread, but anyone else think Rafael is a bit of a liability in terms of fouling too much and going far too forwards at times? I think it was evident in this game and another recent one which I can't remember.

Not sure about the old format but it's never happened in the CL. Real played Valencia twice in 3 years as we did against Milan but never back to back years.

edit: Real didn't play Valencia twice actually :p

They played Leverkusen in 2000 and Valencia played Bayern in 2001.

Wenger, just like when he played an unfit just back from injury eboue for far too long, then took him off 20 minutes after it was clear he was tired left him out their and then made him a scapegoat in the following weeks. He's done the same to Gibbs. He did nothing wrong of note, anyone can slip anytime, taking him off is simply going to tell him the manager blames him, he's going to think all the fans and all his team mates all think its his fault. Considering Adebayor lasted 90 minutes, and Gibbs is taken off, Wengers going to have absolutely destroyed the poor kid.

LIkewise all year long Ade plays crap and never gets dropped. Bendtner starts two games in a row rarely, almost never in the same position, scores, and is dropped straight away. Building the confidence of a guy who can't play football, and destroying a guy who tries and is still scoring despite being messed around more than anyone else at the club.

I think he's quite literally gone insane. If you learnt anything from the first leg its ADebayor won't be the difference, he was the worst man on the pitch tonight, and yet lasts the entire game.

Adebayor is like an untalented Drogba mixed with Berbatov's utter lazyness and lack of commitment. What a combination!

I think Arsenal certainly have the spine of a good side. They play some very good football when they put their minds to it.

Gallas - Fabregas - Arshavin

There's a good backbone to the side. Sadly it's too easy to ruin if injuries go against you. RvP is also a decent player but can go missing when needed.

Also they tried so hard over the two legs to pass it into the net. Adebayor almost seemed terrified to pull the trigger in case he missed. Walcott was bought into the game at every opportunity - whilst I think he's a good player, it soon becomes pretty transparent and easy to defend against.

A couple of good signings and I think they'll be there. They need a lot of work defensively though.
