Just stopped a burglery

Yes I stole the keys from the car, and then ran off and called the police. The police came and I handed over the keys.

The car was stolen and has been recovered. The car has been used in two other burglerys in a two mile radius and so they can link all the information. Prints etc.

I've no idea at this stage if they have case though.

But what did old bill say to you though ?, we need completion, otherwise this like having a power cut halfway through an enders omnibus.

Unfortunately the scum ran off once they couldn't move the car.

It was funny to see them sit down in the car, close the doors and then have to get out again.

When they got in the car you should have locked it

Incidentally I'm doing an essay on GIS used in crime studies at the moment, and the fact that there were 2 crimes in an area, and the location of the getaway car's owner could all be used to create a map of the probable area of the thieves location, possibly down to a street or two. It probably won't be used in this case, but it's pretty remarkable what they can do.

The police questioned my on why I had the keys to the car first which was funny since i'd already told the people on the phone exactly why. Anyway they soon understood and said it was a good plan.

Good thinking, pity you didn't use your phone and filmed them getting back into the car it would have been hilarious.

Good man, you will receive your man points in the post within the next 3 working days :D

Errr. Car doors open from the inside to you know.

Can just see him popping up from behind the bush having cunningly captured the criminals by locking them into their getaway car, jeering and laughing. Generally attempting to convey ownage in their direction.

Right up to the point where one of the roobers reaches over and unloacks the car.
