Saw this one coming as they own the film rights but surprised it took Sony so long to do so. Must be a good game if they have splashed the cash. Apparently they have bought the rights to make Ghostbusters a timed exclusive on PS3 + PS2 on June 19th then PSP later in the year. Atari will still publish the PC + other versions later this year so looks like its going to be a xmas or late autumn release.

This news sucks big time:(

yep very bad news this one :(
Unless they use the time to fix any bugs that get noticed in the extra time they have

Sony showing their true colours.

What, that they know a marketing opportunity that is benefical to them (regardless of how annoying it may be to us)?

The mental thing behind is that it's only a PS3 exclusive/delayad in Europe (according to ve3d), so I wonder how long it will take them to start blaming EU pirates for low sales after the european release?..

Yeah, because Microsoft haven't been doing this for years, and Nintendo and Sega before them . Only advantage Microsoft has is that their exclusives are both PC and 360 due to them owning both platforms. At the end of the day its business, with Sony trying to regain the market share they have lost to MS.

As much as I want this game, I don't have a problem with waiting. Everything is far too buggy on release these days anyway.

Last i checked ive not seen Microsoft buy a game from a developer when it was literally a month from release on all formats.

Bungi? Screw buying the game rights, buy the whole company.

Bungie was bought long before halo was ever going to come out, that being said the game changed laods of times and it really didn't look like it was on track for a release when ms bought it.

Meh, it's just gone from a purchase (PC ver pre-ordered) to a rental (PS3 near release).

Not chuffed in the slightest.

No, but they have a habit of buying them 2-3 months before its due to be released. They also have an annoying habit of signing dlc deals after games have been released, thus screwing other platforms over.

I'm not saying that Sony are saints here, its a rubbish move on their part however i'm just surprised that no-one acts with this much rage when MS do the exact same thing.

That's because they were trying to do a lot more with the game, it was originally an RTS game! MS bought the rights and told them to strip it down. Until then it was set to be a Mac exclusive too.

If it was gonna be a mac exclusive then it would most likely have failed badly, macs and gaming go together as well as humans and arsenic. Especially since the elitest mac crew seem to think that gamings for kids and "beneath them".
