OK, I'm off to Liverpool for a day/night out with mates on Saturday so I'm looking for suggestions of good places to visit for beer/women/footy/pool. Staying at the premier inn so not too bad.

It depends on what sort of night out you want. There are a few different places to go.
Allerton Road, Concert Square would be the 2 options I would go for for day / night.
Allerton Road has the football on and there a few bars then Concert Square in the evening, it has Modo, Walkabout and a few others there.

Keep you hands in your pockets until you get to your room then lock you hotel door and watch pay for view porn all night. liverpools a great place :D

The Prem. inn at the Albert Dock?, if so the bars around there are good for women. They are the trendy type of bars so no footy or pool. Over the road in Liverpool One Jamie Carragher has a sports bar newly opened. If you go into town then Concert Square is the place for busy hen parties and general rowdiness

have a look at the liverpool forum on Tripadvisor

I relocated to Liverpool around 10 months ago due to work commitments I found the docks is a decent place to drink, nice bars and friendly folks and usually the odd hollyoaker. Also Matthews St. area is decent and very lively plenty of bars although some do look a tad seedy. But still a decent night..

people in Liverpool are generally very friendly and up for a good laugh. You won't have a problem finding places to go :) just follow the crowd and see what takes your fancy.

recommendations - Walkabout or BaaBar both in Concert square

Yup staying at Albert Docks and planning on having a few in the docks and then walking into town. COncert road and JC's sprts bar sound fun - keep suggestions coming.

What about a snooker/pool hall that we can walk out of after?

Concert square is horrid, full of young kids who can't handle their ale all ready to kick off. If I were you I would go round the Albert Dock bars, less chance of idiots there than Concert square. Depends what type of places you are after, I could list a great pub crawl of traditional pubs but if it is more bars you are looking for then Albert Dock or Newz Bar, Mosquito, Revolution on Matthew St, Ropewalks area- Alma De Cuba etc would get my vote as places to go. I really dislike concert square that much.

You might be able to get a game of pool in the 147 club on wood street or one of the sports bars.

Go on then list me a pub crawl, at least I go armed with the knowledge and I can then use it.

If you want a smaal pub crawl.
Try Rugby's( Dale Street near the Town Hall), they have a large patio/open square at the back if it's warm, then further down Dale Street to The Vernon (it used to be an Old Mans pub famous for the Left Wing council meeting there but has just been done up), then to The Ship and Mitre which has a large variety of real ales and ciders. The other two have real ales as well

Proper old man real ale pubs these though. Wont be much talent in them :D

Start at Rigbys on Dale St as has been suggested for a good choice of beers
Ship and Mitre- Stupidly large choice of beers in here
Dr Duncans- Cains Brewery outlet pub.
Roscoe Head- Tiny little pub that does Jennings on draught
Fly in the loaf- Sister pub to Rigbys and also does great food.
Ye Crack- Apparently John Lennon drank in here
End in the Philharmonic for some of the most amazing toilets in the world. Seriously!

After this if you are still up for more, head back down into town as the Philharmonic is a bit out of the way. Or do the crawl in reverse and move on to Matthew street after rigbys.
