Hi can someone tell me if these two would work together, and also how good would over clocking the Q6700 would be...

Yes They would work fine together but conisder Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail would be a better choices.

yeah they will work fine together.
you will need a cooler though as its an OEM cpu

and i do belive with good cooling you could hit 3.6-3.8Ghz

i was thinking of e8500, but would i not benefit more from this since i dont do much gaming...

my main needs will just be movies,photoshop ect.. basicly a lot of multi tasking

which board do you think is best for overclocking Asus P5Q Pro Intel P45 or Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

well i havent worked with the gigabyte one, but i have clocked that particular cpu to 3.66GHz on the asus board, VERY stable and solid board imo

how do you reset the bios on the asus.. do you have the remove the battery?

Like any board...remove the cmos battery for a few mins
