This film is bizarre, watching it now... bought it for a 5er like, its good but oh how odd, the gas station scene with the coin....?

Please no spoilers.

I thought it was some kind of gas powered rivet gun?

He uses both.

It is indeed a very slow, and at times frustrating, film. It also takes a very left-field ending which will leave a LOT of people feeling cold.

Need to rewatch it to fully make my own mind up on what I think of it.

Either way, it's great, Javier Bardem(sp?) is a great actor :)

He uses a high powered gas valve type device, plus he uses a silenced shotgun.

its a very dark film, im deeply enjoying so far... give it 20-30minutes and ill give you my thoughts overall.

Are you? I found the film desperately needed cutting down by about 40 minutes. Most of it was unnecessary and far too long for a pretty threadbare script.

However, re-watching certain scenes is good because I don't have to deal with the preamble.

bleedin eck what a ball ache.

ASDA is doing a "two for £20" or something on Blu-Rays at the mo, at this movie is in there. Might pick it up soon along with "3:10 to Yuma" to give it a rewatch. I honestly can't tell you how I think about it right now as I've only watched it once and became very detached as the ending approached. My mind wandered something shocking, but I suppose these days that's a sure-fire sign of an Oscar winner. ;)

To me, all of a sudden Lee-Jones was giving a monologue and it was over. I was like "..eeehh?.."

yeah thats how i saw it too, bloody hell, brilliantly made but scarily odd.

It just made me wonder why they couldn't make something intelligent yet entertaining like "Fargo", "The Big Lebowski" or "Burn After Reading". All three of those are more deserving of an Oscar than this IMO.

It's miles better than Burn After Reading; that was a total swing and miss.

Sticks to the book. Cormac Mcarthy is great. Read 'Blood Meridian', about a scalphunting expedition. Or read 'The Road'. About a kid and his dad trying to survive the apocalypse. Both to be movies too.
