Conspiracy theorist needs to goto Specsavers.

Yeah, you're right that both Teki and magick get those responses, but as far as I can see from any threads that I've come across their OPs contain no more than a massive quoted text from an article and a blimey this is happening post. This causes me to think that they just believed the original article without thinking, and I'm sure others will feel the same. Now both magick and Teki have had valuable contributions in other threads, but the ones they start themselves have a substance that is generally felt to be a bit odd, and wrong, as their basis of argument. Then forum members who disagree feel that they don't need to give a reason for their disagreement, and state said disagreement, in the same way that the OP doesn't really give a reason for their argument. Whether it comes down to insult or playful banter is up to the user in the thread.

I'm all for having a proper debate about something, but if things are going to be stated as truth and not properly evaluated before being thrust to the masses then I don't see any reason why there shouldn't be a massive opinion difference until one side can prove their argument to the other.

Agreed (and not just because Azagoth is going to come back on here at some point with his "troll!!!" accusations).

Keltik THC was the best for that though. ;) So much "too long didn't read" in those posts. Mind you that's easily solved with the ignore button.

That's the thing, you do have a point in a way, but the fact they pop up so often and so obviously full of rubbish means that if you do agree then you're in the minority. You're not necessarilly a troll but I don't think that calling people who disagree an idiot is the best idea. If you want a proper debate go to speaker's corner. If not then anything left in here that most people think is wrong will just get ridiculed.

And the ignore button is handy but I don't use it often on the basis that I'd like to see people's ideas, theories and responses in a way that I can use to base mine upon. For example I don't know much about these moon statues etc but if they can be proven one way or another then anyone can go for it. Unfortunately at the moment all I can see is that it's a load of drivel, made for people who like conspiracies etc.

Sometimes it's best to float with the crowd, in this thread alone there have been some interesting responses without backing either side of the argument. When really it's known to be without a basis itself.
*shrugs* sure each to their own.

No, I say let him call people, and me in particular, an idiot if he so desires. After all, it only goes to back up and reinforce my point that he's nothing more than an irritating and insignificant little troll. :)

Having said that, it's now time for me to climb back under my own bridge and slumber. I have to be up for work in 6 hours, and those billy goats gruff won't scare themselves.

do you actually think about these articles before you believe and post such rubbish?

For a start it's a pure lie as here is no way they can date it.
The moon can't hold atmosphere it jsut isn't large enough and as such does not have the required mavity.

Doesn't it get boring though?

The tinfoil hat pics and comments get boring but there is no reason to propose that these threads should be moderated out of existence. The worst part of this thread is your hijacking.

Probably no bad thing for Teki and Magick to post this stuff here and get a more rational view thrown back at them (even if some of the 'jokes' have morphed from predictable to tired) than to just post on Above Top Secret and other conspiracy forums where the ratio of the deluded to the objective is largely reversed. We may just save them from themselves.

The Old Ones will be here soon. Mark my words, unbelievers!

Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!

Well to be honest trance is a fairly recent genre of music, I would imagine they would be more into classical or some sort of light jazz. Of course the lack of a good atmosphere made the jazz clubs not very popular.

lol

Remote viewing is not about using existing objects, it's about being able to "project" yourself anywhere you wish. It's supposedly associated with the whole phenomenon where some people have reported seeing from a viewpoint above their bodies during a traumatic operation in theatre, for example, attached by a thin ethereal cord to their physical being.

There is no scientific evidence to support this however, and I never got anywhere trying to do it in my almost hippy-ish "experimental" phase of life :p The only reason I tried this is because I once had a bit of a weird experience when I was a kid and was in hospital for an operation. I managed to somehow remember fragments of conversation between the surgeon and other staff while I was unconscious - but that's probably to do with the fact that even while you are anaesthetised, your brain isn't completely shut down.

interesting, one can definately see why there may be a requirement for mental delusions and/or hallucinogenics in order to do this, lol.

Amazingly, and this is documented, the US government actually backed significant research into 'remote viewing' with a programme funded to look into the effectiveness of this as an espionage tool. Needless to say this programme no longer exists (although I am sure that our cospiracy theorist friends will tell us that it worked so well it was taken underground so the Ruskies don't know we're watching them or something.) It worked so well, they stopped doing it. I think congress must have been at the crack pipe when they approved that programme.

edit: incidentally several of the people who were involved in this now make a living teaching remote viewing through costly seminars, DVDs and books - as I've said to Magick before, there's money in conspiracy just as long as there are fools who can tolerate how dull their lives are and have disposable income.

And how exactly are the majority of replies in this thread not representative of that statement? Except that the replies are from a number of posters rather than one.

People are just fighting fire with fire, I agree. But if you look at the rest of the statements in that list nearly all of them agree exactly with how Teki, Magick, Keltic etc conduct themselves. In fact the agreement is so strong it's actually funny.:)

In other words, the majority of members here see a magick or Teki post, and instantly equate it with about as much logic as flicking through a copy of "Fortean Times" at the newsagent. The resulting thread is only a natural list of responses from that mindset.

you simply cant bracket FT with Magick or Teki in any way shape or form, The true essence of adopting a fortean attitude is to be open to both possibilities. Think of it as sitting on the fence.

Neither of the two chaps mentioned above have this mindset at all.

Anyway back OT. great, I thought Friday was going to be dull but now I can don my foil hat

you're absolutely right, fortean times takes a very tongue in cheek view of these 'phenomena' and has never jumped on the bandwagon for any theory to my knowledge

Hey guys, I found some evidence that the OP is indeed not lying, read these ancient lyrics from a folk song!

We're Whalers On The Moon,
we Carry A Harpoon,
for They Ain't No Whales
so We Tell Tall Tales
and Sing Our Whaling Tune.

I am afraid it is all true!
