Yes, 12 months unlimited to be exact due to my 'challenges' with the RS4 in the last 12 months or so. Fair play to Stafford Audi who fought my corner with a big German Corporate who at first didn't want to play ball but after much discussion (and a threat of sending over Charles Charlie Charles for a carpet bombing rematch) they came good and looked after their customer.

Fair play Audi I suppose.

It has not really changed my mind about Audi RS's no and I told them as much but it has shown me that Audi can value their customers (I have £80K of their cars on my drive less they forget) and to me it was less a case of buying my love for my car and more a case of would Audi be seen to do the right thing. THAT for me was the issue and to be fair they have, after much discussion acknowledged that they have let me down and have made a solid gesture to address this. If I see an engine management light in the next 12 months I will park it in their UK HQ............via air drop!

recently read that the RS5 maybe getting 4.2 V8 twin-turbo.

that might turn me to the dark side!! :)

Where did you read that? I've heard it's going to be a V6 but that was some time ago, but from my understanding audi's new policy is less displacement, more efficiency...

Since the cabrio has a different engine to the coupe?

The S5 coupe is the 4.2 litre V8, the S5 cabrio is the supercharged V6 from the new S4.

S5 coupe will be updated at some point with the new engine too apparently

its part of audis commitment to reduce engine size and co2 emissions.

Indeed, and it makes sense, especially with the tax punishment plans in place in many countries these days.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next RS4 is twincharged (add a turbocharger to the supercharger) to keep in line with this.

well Tom said he'd heard the new RS5 will be using twin turbo 4.2 V8

not quite sure how that makes sense in reducing Co2 however as the current RS4 already has a 4.2 V8, so its hardly like to reduce co2 emissions.

Either way surely the RS5 won't be appearing until mid-2010 given the TT-RS is about to begin production?

I remember seeing a preview of it some time ago (9 months+) in a magazine that suggested it was just around the corner - but I just don't see that happening.

There's some info here suggesting a twin-turbo V8:

But also a £48K price tag. Can't see that happening somehow!

Dolph - The twincharge could be a possibility, but there were similar rumours about the TT-RS getting a twincharge V5 but that didn't turn out to be the case. I would have thought if anything Audi would be sticking to single turbo chargers/superchargers

A family friend had no end of problems with his S4 from new a few years ago. It was always back to Audi and they replaced a huge amount of parts on the car.

In the end after a meeting with the customer services director he got them to take the car back at a good trade in value on an RS4, and also gave him the vat off the RS4 as well!

There's an RS5 coming?! Fantastic, love the S5, gorgeous imo

Good news on the warranty, cant say I'd be too impressed if I'd spent that much on a car and have it not working as it should

Well played. I'm waiting for an answer from Mercedes next week, see if they play as fair as Audi.
