8800 GTX Sli what next??

Because as i said before, in games that stream a lot it makes a huge difference and the cards were're talking about require more bandwidth then the cards in the article so they will be affected more.

PCIEX x16 ver. 1.0 sucks for high end cards playing high end games.

Anyhow i never said that you never gained any speed from pci-e 1 to pci-e 2. I said the difference is minimal and from most results this seems to be true but it does seem in some things that extra bandwidth matters but with single core cards i don't think it would matter as much as it would with a dual core gpu like the x2 or gx2. You just have to look around this forum to see all the people using the new cards on pci-e version 1 to see its not a big draw back most of the time.

Well it held back my 260GTX, Crysis, STALKER, STALKER Clear Sky and loads of others showed a bottleneck.

It all depends on what games people play but at the end of the day games and graphics cards aren't gonna start requireing less bandwidth, they are gonna want more and more.

Alan wake as an example, the game isn't out yet but from the videos ive seen and the amount of trees and render distance you can bet your ass that the game is gona stream heavily and strain the PCIEX bus.

So I'm none the wiser now, do I get the 275 or is my motherboard no good??

I would just get the card mate should be fine. There is a lot of people on this forum and around the internet happy with there performance using the new gen cards and not complaining about poor performance on pci-e v1 motherboards.

Dual GPU video cards will be using much more of the PCI-E bus bandwidth than single GPU products because the dual GPU system needs to use that same bus to transfer data across of.

Think I will wait for Wednesday and see whats on "This week only" just going to use my laptop till then LOL
