What i mean the game that you look back now on and still want to give it a go again to try relive the moments again.

Mine has to be Asheron's call. I have played that game for 10years on and off at one point playing it for 5-10 hours a day back in my school days not playing any other game. I can still remember people i met and no other mmo has recaptured the same sense of fun for me.

the only other game that has had the same effect is the FIFA games, for differnt reasons that they are just pick up and play for 10 mins

Ultima Online. Gave up in 2002. I did sign up again a couple of years back and almost got back into it before the free trial ended, but the magic was gone. I still read the forums on Stratics, but increasingly it is only to look for threads saying how bad it is now to strengthen my resolve against getting dragged back into it again. I think is best to leave what memorys I have of the game in its prime as they are. BTW sort the thread title out, I mean, what?

Same as Bubo, Ultima Online. At its peak the greatest game I have ever played on any machine format. Those days have gone though, but I'm very happy that I got the opportunity to play in those times.

The original Thief & Deus Ex, and also Zelda occirana of time on the N64. Replayed all the Thief series last month, absolute quality game.

Baldur's Gate. Absolutely immense game, loved it to death, its just a shame it looks so poor on a big monitor, otherwise I'd probably play it again.
Dragon Age:Origins looks like it's going to be very similar to BG in gameplay - hoping it'll be as good.

MOHAA

Every other fps since is a pale imitation.

Maybe WOW at launch not the piece of crap it is now.

Tough one to answer for me, I have good memories of quite a few games. The best would probably be Unreal (and by extension UT), partly because of the atmosphere the game had but mainly for the modding community and so many great mods.

resident evil, brought a saturn off ebay when i damaged my knee so i could play it from start to finish with out any interuptions :)

MW

Probably Day of Defeat, got into it after CS and went into the whole clan thing - was a laugh.. never really been able to get into an FPS since, can't be bothered with teams anymore but it is the only way to play them :(

Same for me with Asherons Call - I go back to it every few months and will be really sad when they turn the servers off. It's a shame in a way they moved away from Microsoft as, with there cash, they could be working on a true sequel (hated AC2). Been on a few servers there - started on Thistledown and moved to Leafcull later and I'm still there (Level 185 or so iirc).

The main thing I initially remember was running into Eastham with a mate and thinking 'these are all people'. The combat system was brillaint. Everything about it was superb (the monthly updates and dev chats) it was the first game I've played the entire day through to 5AM. Trying to find spell combinations was great as well just because of the social side of it. At the time Decal was a great idea - you could find loot that people had missed. Now though it was probably the beginning of the end as was housing. As soon as they had mansions for the guilds everyone sort of seperated and went there.

I think it's time for another month on there now!

Single player wise I second the baldur's gate suggestion, such an awesome game
