Hi

Looks like my MB is dead. Just wont power on at all. pulled everything (apart from CPU) and tried 2 different PSU's and still nothing . Might be the CPU but I have nothing to replace it with to test.

My current setup is a P5K + Q6600 + DDR2

I have been out of the loop with regards to what is out there at the moment , and I am considering replacing my MB + CPU + RAM now as I have had them for 24+ Months, so can anyone give me some advice on a respectable setup ? I have an ATI 4870X2 ready to go back in.

Is it worth going for an i7 chip ?

Thanks

I have 4GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 at the moment.

well you could either go the I7 spec or just go for something like this and overclock the clu, and with 4gig of ram you'll run everything great :)

Cool thanks , will check those out now . I was looking at the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 + Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48 also . Have the i7 chips a big performance gain over their predecessors ?
