Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

i found this video recently for charge characters, havent had the time to test it myself but the theory sounds solid and looks like it would be very useful for combos as well as defensive charge playstyles

I hate Vega, unsure of how to block his stuff half the time. :p

My main characters are Sagat and Balrog as you might have been able to tell, I do enjoy fiddling with Dhalsim though. :)

I thought it was obvious as it's pretty much needed for some of the combos with charge characters and I just did it instinctively.

Yea I mentioned supercharging/precharging a while back actually. Easier to do on a stick than a pad mind. You get that nice "snappy" feeling when precharging on a stick :D

I'm off to one of my MBA 5 day courses so hopefully upon my return next weekend I will be able to play some SF4 :) Ah happy days.. :p

Haven't been able to get online at all tonight, god they've ruined it.

Same. Thought I would jump online for abit and see if any of the usuals are on, maybe have some friendlys, but it just wouldn't let me sign on at all. It's well and truly shafted.

The idea of paying a small fee for the online service doesn't seem like such a bad idea to me after all.:p

For anyone who might be interested regarding the losing GP problem on PSN, taken from SRK:

Well I don't want to say it...but I may have found a solution/workaround for the GP not saving problem. Just bear with me.

The problem isn't within the game or your save, but with the servers/server communication. I figured this out by creating another account and intentionally contracting the bug then figuring out why. It occurs whenever you visit rankings and there's a server miscommunication, specifically with viewing fights. Afterwards you get the PSN disconnect error and from then on out GP won't save. so here's the solution that's worked for me for the past 8 hours. Hopefully this is permanent until a patch.

First start up SFIV. Immediately go to the stats page where player, championship, etc stats are. Then go into ranking. From ranking go visit the highest ranked REPLAY and watch it once (I only say #1 b/c it obviously works). While watching it VOTE at least one time so that it forces a server communication. (It can be any video doesn't matter and you can vote 99 times if you want, the point is to get the server to upload your votes thereby reestablishing a connection with your machine. Seems to serve as a reset button.

Now this is very important immediately exit ranking without watching any more videos or browsing any more tabs. Back out all the way to the main menu. Now click network game. At this point it should immediately take you to the Ranked, Player, Championship match screen. You should be in the clear from here on out so long as you finish all of your championship runs.

VERY important, never again visit rankings...at least until they patch it.

I've done this with two accounts that were bugged and it's worked so far. I've switched between the two at random intervals, turned the machine off and on, played different games, etc and my GP has held all day.

Now if anything goes wrong at any step, completely exit the game and relaunch it. Do not attempt to go back into rankings and watch more videos. I did this and the bug stayed with me. When I did it right, everything worked

Not saying this is 100% but I have been able to maintain GP all day. If this works for you but you want to watch replays I suggest creating a new profile and leaving it bugged so you can watch replays whenever.

I know it's a long post but I figure some of the guys affected here would want to hear it. If you have any questions just post and I'll work through it.

Again this is a work around, it could fail but it hasn't yet. Good luck fellas.

This guy is clutching at straws. I played for about 3 hours on my own account yesterday afternoon and about 6 hours at mates house on his account. None of us lost any stats (haven't lost any for about a week). If anything, after a few tournaments we actually go into the Rankings to make sure it has updated!!! To date I have only watched 1 replay ever, so I don;t think that helps or hinders.

I went up 700ish points yesterday, logged on at mates house and Rankings were right, gonna check it now in case, but I think it will be fine.

The only thing I recall each time I recall losing points was that SF4 said I was signed out of PSN but in actual fact in XMB I was still signed in.

Edit: Does anyone know the exact formula for how many GP you go up after winning a tournament? Only won 2 at mates place yesterday but I thought it might be something like 8% of the total CP for the winner, but only had 2 examples to work from so could be miles off!
