Whats you're Windows 7 reboot time?

restarti.jpg

with me login in. Maybe KIS 2009 is causing the delay?

Windows7 7100 RC, fresh install on my laptop

T6400
2GB RAM

common sense :p

Well I'm going to get rid of NOD32 it seems like a pile of turd, Avast was better, much better, but I don't think it's responsible for my 111 seconds boot time, doing me head in knowing it's so slow!

willhub

i find nod32 fine on my work pc and my mum's pc

make sure windows defender real-time scanning is disabled, this is a big performance hitter (doubt it effects startup time)

i wouldn't worry about boot time guys, unless you're over 2 mins. just use S3 sleep mode, recovers in about 2 seconds then :p

105seconds

But I do have a few things opening on boot

Avast, Msn & Skype

E6300 @ stock
Asrock Dual-vsta
2gb ddr2 ram
500gb Samsung HD501LJ

109 seconds on vista x64, i think it could be faster as my boot up is screwed, because i got to have windows dvd to order to boot up, cant be bothered to reformat atm.

specs:
amd 4800@3ghz
asus m2n-sli deluxe
4gig
80gig WD olddish 300gig for storeage

HHmm

59 secs

New Install windows 7
6gig ram
64GB Vertex SSD

Well chuffed with time compared to my old system. that would take 2-3 mins to shutdown.

Maybe my rig should be a little quicker.

But bios takes ages on my new I7/UD5 setup it take 5-8 secs to shut down and 20 secs to boot from the "loading windows" screen

(Please note, this is a safe file to execute)

Indeed, clean too, when it displays the message box giving the time it looks like it wipes the registry keys it creates when it starts the reboot.
Wish I'd thought of it :p

Edit: 78 seconds, apparently. I timed on my watch too and the first 45 were shutting down/starting in bios, so 33s from post to desktop.

This is on my laptop, C2D 2.33GHz, 3.25gb, x64 7, 64gb Core V1 ssd
