Ive been looking at them for a while and was just wondering peoples views of these 3:
Touch Diamond2
Touch Pro2
Touch HD

By the looks of it they are all pretty mucht he exact same phones (going off the specs) besides a few things such as screen size (although they the same resolution) and camera.
So should i just get the cheapeast going then? or will i miss out on something by doing that?

Thanks,

Flare.

just upgraded from a htc touch to a htc touch 3g:D, the touch 3g is smaller, the touchflo interface is very fast. touch 3g is one to look into

touch 3g
lighter
smaller
nicer to hold
gps

Touch HD hands down, reviews of the dimond 2 them selves say its not as good. But if you want a keyboard then obviously the touch pro 2 is the one for you. Personaly i dont feel the need, had my touch hd about a week now and im used to the touch keyboards just fine.

As for a free upgrade to 6.5, personly i dont like the new ui on it but also you can easly get that on you touch hd anyway. Seens as they are all pritty much identical specs they will all run pritty much the same things, the only difference is the touch pro 2 has a keyboard, the touch hd has an amazing big screen and the dimond 2 is just well... what does the dimond 2 have?

Dont forget the HD has a 3.5mm jack, that in its self is a god send.

:EDIT:

May i point out also that when i ought my touch hd i expected it was going to eb too big to fit into pockets comfortably etc. Due to its very thin size, i dont feel it i my pocket. So the whole "dont sit down with it in your 'pants'" is a bit silly tbh.

Hmm I wouldn't say the HD beats the Diamond 2 hands down if at all.

The diamond 2 is hell of a phone...and then add in the tweaked software etc.

the software can be put onto the HD though thast the thing. When it comes down to it there is no difference but the HD has a bigger screen and a 3.5mm jack. HD wins hands down i say.

only way to get wm6.5 on the hd is unoffical roms(invalidating your waranty in the process), what about the people who don't know how or feel confortable doing that(I for 1 don't, I've had my hd sice january and don't want to screw it up).

I only just updated to an unofficial rom a couple of weeks ago (had the phone since October) and it's definately worth a go fowler. It took me a while to get the nerve to do it but with USPL it is very safe and pretty easy to do. :)

I'd like to know what reviews you are reading? All the reviews I'm reading say the Touch Diamond2 is better than the HD.

- crisper screen
- more pocketable
- free upgrade to 6.5
- better battery life
- vga video recording
- push internet
- capacitive like screen
- touch flo 3d optimised

The Touch HD is a great phone but you can't say it wins 'hands down'.

You have the Touch HD so obviously you want to say your phone is superior.

bah humbug, the touch hd is the best phone in the world and that's a FACT. no other phone before or after will ever be as good or better so get over it :)

p.s. I'm waiting for the n97 :)

amp34 I have vista64bit, don't want to risk it with the horror stories relating to vista64bit that I've read. may give it a try when I eventually get a dual boot xp installed(been meaning to for almost a year).

I had read 2 reviews saying the HTC touch HD was the better buy. But it appears after having tryed to find it again i instead found reviews saying the oposit. So i withdraw that claim.

Plus i was joking a bit bout how amazing it is :p
But still bigger screen + 3.5mm can upgrade freely to 6.5 anyway, if youve been to xda forumsthre are already 6.5roms that many are using. Any software/rom tweak for the dimond can and will be put on the touch hd by the devs at xda. They love playing around with those things. That will including push internet/ vga recording etc (or at least i beleive, i dont think its hardware limitation?)

i agree, ive read the screen is crisper. But have you actually seen the touch hd? didn't think you could get much better tbh, the only reason for being crisper is a slightly smaller size. Hense smaller pixils i would have thought. Probably though tuned the screen better too.

Battery life, if its greatly changed would eb a huge bonus. Listerning to music, watching videos etc kills theese phones FAST.

And as for more pocketable, tbh i really thiought it was gona be huge in my pocket, its not noticeable. Very impressed with it, i presume this is because of how thin it is. But i will agree slightly smaller size be nicer in the hand as sometimes when you dont ahve both avalible it can be that lil bit more of a challange, proably because im not used to touch screens yet though.

In the end it comes dwon to what you want, personaly really wanted to take advantage of the internet and using it as a mp3 palyer due to coming with an 8gb card. both of theese are done better by a 3.5mm jack and a bigger screen. I cant see many other day to day usess's for theese phones unless your a busness person. Thus why to me it is a clear winner imo.

Migth i also add on the topic of a bigger screen, it will make the keyboard bigger that you type on which is very tiny as it is! Be warned!

Im not intrested in the camra, which is lucky considering neither come with a flash which makes them pritty useless for moments when you probably want to take pictures which is usualy out and about at night.

I am on 64x Vista too. I assume you are talking about the unsigned driver issue? If so it's pretty easy to bypass.

I was in exactly the same boat as you, it's a tough decision to be honest.

I ended up going with the HD as I managed to get a great contract from Orange. I have to say i'm loving the phone (just scared i'm going to drop it on a drunken night out)

I guess the beauty of getting the HD means I could possible sell it and get a diamond 2 due to the cost of the phone.

Which ever way you go i'm sure you will be happy as the phones are pretty much similar when it comes down to it. The one thing that scared me was texting but i can honestly say i find it better to text on these devices.

edit: if it's any help i came from a k850i phone so the differene for me is huge!

I came from a w850i. Horrible phones!

You find it better to text? damn you got used to that quickly. Im starting to really get into the qwerty keyboard, but nothing like what i could with hard keys. and i must be looking at the screen.

I just use the mobile keypad with T9 not the full qwerty, I find it wayyyy faster!

OT: also a handy tip, if you press and hold the end phone call button (bottom right) it locks the phone, i was using the button at the top to simply turn off the screen!

haha yeah i discovered this out the hard way too :P

And if you use the t9 on qwerty it gueses all the words perfectly because your only imputtigh one letter a time so usualy on have to type first few letters of a word. Handy no?

Also i find the normal keypad to be great because u have to push the buttons really quickly to get onto other letters, unlike other phones where youll have to push down if you want to do two of the same letter or wait a few seconds for it to allow you to continue...if that makes sence?
