STS-125 Shuttle Mission to Service Hubble Space Telescope Launches on Monday 7pm

Yahoo! feeds were shot to hell tonight. No chance on the 1.2mbps feed which I normally record. The 300kbps and 500kbps feeds seemed just about OK. Sky News covered most of it though which is better quality than all the feeds.

The wiki link at 1200 was fine till t minus 20mins roughly. then I had to switch to the 500 due to stuttering.

What with the Billions Nasa have spent on this I am disappointed with the lack of high quality video and photo streams.

That said it was very exciting to watch, but hardly 21st century with the media delivery, It was all a bit 1980's. I'm sure most here could do better.

No problem with the 1200 feed here. No frames lost in the last three hours.

I'm on Be/O2. It wan't that.

The total mission cost is somewhere around $900m and HD video of the launch is available. If you want to complain about the lack of HD feeds in the UK, complain to US Congress. I doubt they'll listen though. :p

Fantastic to watch - must be amazing to actually be there and experience the sheer power!
The link in the OP mentions that the shuttle program is being phased out next year.
What happens after then?
I assume the Space Station has still got a few years left so how will missions be run?

Go Atlantis.

They have an IMAX 3D camera on board Atlantis which should capture some great footage of the mission.
