Any one happy being single or just become single and nervous about dating ?

Well my story is split with my X who I was with for 8 years and was with 2 other girls with no break really so I haven't been single in like 14 years!!.

Been on my own for 8 months and not even dated any one!, I just cant work out if I am happy on my own as I can game and train MMA and Thai boxing as well as the gym when I want.

I am 29 and suddenly find my self with no single mates any more and are forced to stay in most weekends, so I am not really getting the chance to meet people!

I am sought of feeling the single life isn't so bad, but I have to admit I do miss the affection side of a relationship.

I recently joined a dating site and to cut a long story short been in contact with a few girls, one asked me to phone her and I was like no problems will phone you tonight, thinking nothing of it, sat down to phone her and sought of panicked! lol..... any way phoned her and just wasn't relaxed speaking to her and was on the phone for about 5 minutes then was like bye got to go!!

What a total **** I made out of my self!!, its mad I fight people in the ring but speaking to a girl I go to bits!

Any one else relate to me ? lol
 
Not specifically to your story, but I don't mind being single too much.

A lot of my female friends are really affectionate/cuddly anyway, and you can have a decent conversation, so it's not really a problem. I always feel that love finds you, not the other way round - so I'm fine with single life for the meantime :)
 
Good point mate, I am thinking of just letting life takes it cause. every person I have met i have never been looking for so says it all really.
 
yup i relate.

Been single since 2006 after 12 years. Was hellish tbh. im 34 now and had a couple of 6 monthers over the past 3 years and just havnt worked out. tbh i dont think i can be arsed with the pain that it can bring. I have had enough to last me a life time.

I like the single life but yes i do miss the affection every now and then. Im sure like everybody else, i crap myself when going on dates. But whats for you wont go by you.

You could both go living without doing anything about it :eek:!!

Nevertheless, I'm 19 and still enjoying a crazy student life :p I don't mind being single, and feel that I'll find someone sooner or later :p
 
Being single is the worst thing in the world, ever. When I was single I used to convince myself it was great, but in reality, it so wasn't.

If you are one of those people who can go from bed to bed, girl from girl and happy then fine. Personally, right now i rather have something and someone more permanent.
 
I'm "with" a girl but making sure it doesn't get too serious and all that - just light and fun. ;):D

Most of my mates in serious relationships are miserable tbh, and getting everyone out is a nightmare sometimes :(

I think it depends on what sort of person you are - I value my personal space and freedom to do what I want, so getting tied down isn't my thing. I have loads of girl mates for female company and conversation if that's what I want.
 
Some times I wish I was a bit of a **** as I no if I was that way I could be at it all the time but thats not my thing.

I have a 2 year old daughter with my X as well so she gives me a lot of the love I need and she is all ways number 1 to me.
 
I am a bit younger (23) but in a similar position, been in relationships most of my life (well, from 15) and now I am single again. Longest I spent single was 10 months and eventually I loved it. Been single 3 months now and have enjoyed bits but I really miss my ex. I am in that awful stage where I go out hoping to hook up with someone, which will NEVER happen. If I go out and forget about it, something probably will happen, despite my apparent lack of confidence!!

Girl mates!? Get yourself a girl-chum. I recommend them. Girl-chums come with added extras.

lol..... yer that's the forgotten thought thou isn't it that being in a relationship is just as stressful if not more than being single.

If a relationship was all ways as good as the first 6 months then I dount I would be on my own.

At times like these I like to listen to that sun screen song lol any one heard it ?
