Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC is out

Wicked, I bought Fallout 3 a while ago on people's recommendations here... I've spent over 20 hours on it so far  What am amazing game - I'm not disappointed at all. I was worried about it being a bit of a let-down what with Oblivion not being what I expected. :D

The only gripe I have is that there are only 9 shortcut keys for weapons :(

Will check this out later :)

level cap was already removed with a mod for free.
You could free roam before as well - just don't start the purifier...

GFWLIVE achievements are now fixed (you need to re-earn them and they unlock as normal) so the only outstanding issue is the hanging on exit bug.

I thought it was awesome, cool fights at the air base, funny new perks, still think the game is fantastic. Then again i didn't pay for it, my brother did, but this is the only one of the DLC packages so far that has been worth the cash.

Gah!!!
Installed the latest patch in preparation for Broken Steel and it trashed all my saves.
Now I have to start all lover again.
Never thought of making a backup of my save files, it's never been necessary before.
Oh well, at leats it'll be fun, but after having got pretty far I'll have to take a break before I start again.

fs  Was hoping the achievements would just sync up and we wouldn't have to replay earlier save games.
Unfortunately no same problem GTA-IV had when the achievements broke. You can however cheat and use the console cheats to gain all the achievements and MS are fine with that (no bans) as Bethesda included the cheats in the game code.

Just finished the BS quests and they are not very large even if you do all the optional ones only took me around 2 hours. To get to lvl30 without cheating however will take me a while as I am only at 25 after completeing all 3 DLC and the main game. Found out you can revisit the air force base to gain a lot of XP if you use the trams again they will take you there so thats what I am going to do then not sure what else will give me lots of XP quickly.....

Im sure with every patch they keep making this game more problematic. Since 1.5 just roaming the wasteland can either cause the game to just freeze randomly or crash to desktop. VAT's is still bugged (pretty sure it worked instantly at release), the mouse aim is still crazy whack. Im hoping that with all this DLC out the way they can finally get back to fixing this crap instead of each patch being something to setup DLC.

i have to say i've never had a single crash. gonna download BS soon and cant wait. missed so many side quests in the game as i was more interested in the main story but looking forward to roaming the wastes and mopping things up once completing the additional quests.

i did think the original ending was a bit turd so delighted they have carried it on. there really is scope to go very far with the game still. I think i only traveled half the map completing the main story.

they just need to make sure the bugs dont persist, which by the sounds of things isnt going very well!

For me the most dissapointing part of the game was that i wasnt allowed to blast my way through little lamplight - those kids are a bunch of jerks!
