Hi, nice to see someone else still on a prescott :D
If you want to spend that much then I'd say something like the NEC 24WMGX3 might be a good buy, assuming you will be using a 360 on it.

Would recommend reading the FAQ in the monitors section and visiting the links inside. Personally found the site tftcentral linked inside to be extremely informative.

what if i was not using a xbox 360 on it ? would this monitor be no good for pc use

Quite the opposite. It's a brilliant all rounder. Input lag is quite low, and can be reduced more for gaming using through mode, colour reproduction is great, viewing angles are very nice, it has a VA panel which means good blacks, which is nice for gaming too.

Also, since it has 1:1 pixel and aspect mapping, you'll be able to play your 360 with no distortion.

just looked at that monitor looks nice is there any other monitors better ? or is this the best of the best of 24" monitors.

The bigger monitors around the same price will these have the same sort of picture as you can have bigger monitors for the £450 mark or is this the best out there

ok these are the ones i have been looking at

Dell Ultrasharp 2709W £486
NEC MultiSync 24WMGX3 £409
Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP £442

also is the Dell Ultrasharp 2709W the (Rev. A02) as i have been reading up on it ? well i noticed there is a version A02 but what diffrence does it make

which would you say is the best to worse ?

is the 27" on par with the 24" ?

I just ordered Samsung 2433BW. Not sure if any good to you. I always like Samsung display and at the moment using 2253BW and it's brilliant :)

Or you could have a look the new range of Samsung P2370

Don't think the SM2443BW nor the SM2433BW have any pixel mapping feature... So the 1080p resolution coming from the XBox 360 would get stretched to 1920x1200 I'm afraid. So I think Its a no go If you're going to use it for consoles.

been looking hard and comes down to 2 monitors now

the

HP LP2475W
NEC MultiSync 24WMGX3

now i dont game a lot at all on my pc and there does but what i have read that both these monitors are good for games.

any way i will be using the monitor mostly for web, movies, pictures, word and desktop work.

now i know there is a pink issue with the hp but i have read that it depends on the monitor and the version you get so say i got a working one which of these 2 should i go for.

i want the best picture, best blacks contrast, sharp and clear text and a pop out picture.

these 2 monitors seem to get the best reviews and choise but i can not decide which to go for is there much diffrence in the picture qualty and colors as the hp has a better color system than the nec.

but doe sthe nec have better blacks i just dont know what to go for .

thanks for any other info

I am also looking for a 24" for the same reasons.

Had a bad experience before with NEC, never owned a HP - someone convince me what to go for too. Extremely tempted to wait and see if a stunning Led monitor comes along.

I was in the same boat and had my monitor choice down to the tow you listed plus the Dell 24" screen.

What swayed it for me was the pink issues which still seem to be a concern even with later models of the HP plus a few other issues (see HP thread on here).

That and the fact that NEC has the best warranty IMO. 3 years swap out where you just ring up and they dispatch you a replacement and pick yours up the following day is worth a lot of money.

With the added bonus that if they don't make your model anymore then you get their newest equivalent or superior model. There are a lot of people on here who recently did a warranty return on their 20" 20wgx2 screens and got new 24" wmgx3 screens as a replacement. I will be quite happy in 3 years time getting the latest led NEC as a replacement should mine go wrong ;)

Interesting to hear what your bad experience was with NEC?

Anyway I am more than happy with my new NEC. No dead pixels or sub pixels or backlight bleed (in fact I can't remember anybody with an NEC reporting any on here) which is always a good sign. Colours are gorgeous and the blacks are lovely. Watching blueray is a joy and puts my lounge tv to shame.

what the nec like for desktop work and pictures and web is the text sharpness just as good as the hp or better

It's fine on mine but can;t pass comment on the HP as never seen one in the flesh to know if it's better.

Baddass should be able to answer this since he reviewed both of them.

Ok discounting the hazro now after searching on these forums.

If they Hazro don't answer emails and people are getting problems with them I can do without that hassle thanks.
