Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra

Ooooooo.... gonna watch this later...

I cought the bit with the 'Theremin' but wanted to watch CSI-NY (yeah I know!!)...

Very nice to hear a breakdown of the sections and understand how different scores (if that's the right word) are affected by the instruments. Shame Bill tried to be funny because he isn't...other than that I though he presented it very well

I saw this live at the Albert Hall, a bit disappointing to be honest.

I'm just watching it now, its great. I like Bailey and love this type of thing (mashups, kind of), its cool to see what the orchestra can do.

What was disappointing about it?

It was very samey to be honest and a bit pretentious I thought. I love his musical comedy in Part Troll and Tinselworm which I also saw live but this wasn't as inventive I didn't think. A lot of it was taken from his comedy shows and padded out a lot.

I seen Bill Bailey live twice and I'll keep going back as he's excellent. I thought this was great, cockney influences on classical music was brilliant :D

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it. Loved the way he picked out common melodies in classical and modern pieces.

I think the unedited full version will be better, this was a bit poor I thought. It didn't flow, and after maybe 15 minutes about the orchestra he just went into his comedy routine.

I say old chap, where can one view said unedited version?

It's getting released on DVD, The bearded one mentioned it on Twitter. Not sure when, he did say but I can't remember.

I certainly think it will be better than the version the BBC showed, you could tell it had been hacked to pieces.
