didnt think i was that into rpg but after playing mass effect i need more! heard a lot of good things about Fallout 3 but would like to hear the forums opinion. any other rpg suggestions? fable2?

I love fallout 3, I tried to play it a few times in the past, and after about an hour or 2 I got bored. But I gave it another blast about a fortnight ago, and it's stuck this time. And i'm loving it!

J-RPGs available are Lost Odyssey and Last Remnants. I havent played Last Remnants yet, but mybrother is playing it, and he loves it, And i've seen him playing it, and i really want to play lol, But i refuse to until i've finished lost Odyssey, Which is a great RPG.

Theres Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey to check out, played the earlier which was a pretty decent cartoon style graphics game. Havent got round to teh latter yet. Also Blue dragoon that Ive not played.. these are all jrpgs I think.

Blue Dragon is a Japanese style RPG.
Never got round to completing it but it was decent enough.

I started re-playing Oblivion a couple of weeks ago after a break of 3 years. Very enjoyable. After this, I'm going to get Shivering Isles (anyone know the cheapest way of getting it?) and then move onto Fallout 3. My mate who hates RPGs loves Fallout 3, so I'm looking forward to it.

Blue Dragon is a good J-RPG as Smit said but I never got around to completing it (same as him) so I'm not sure how good the longevity is.

Lost Odyssey is supposed to be very good, I've got this but haven't had the time to play it yet unfortunately.

Lost Odyssey is written by Kiyoshi Shigematsu and Hironobu Sakaguchi (who created the Final Fantasy series) and Blue Dragon's music is done by Nobuo Uematsu (again Final Fantasy) and the artist of the game does Dragon Ball Z.

So if you like the FF series you should enjoy those two.

Eternal Sonata again is another supposedly very good J-RPG. I've not played the full game but thoroughly enjoyed the demo - and thinking about it I may just need to purchase the full game as I honestly can't say why I don't own it.

After this, I'm going to get Shivering Isles (anyone know the cheapest way of getting it?

Trade in your current copy of Oblivion and see if you can get a cheap Game of the Year Edition?

You'll get Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isle packed with it, and it's bound to be cheaper than paying with MS points.

Very quick as I've only got a min.

WRPG...

If you liked Mass Effect try Fallout 3, it's superb. Try Oblivion if you liked Fallout 3 and like fantasy, and also try Fable 2. If you've enjoyed all that you can always try Two Worlds which I personally quite liked.

JRPG

Lost Odyssey > Blue Dragon > The Last Remnant > Infinite Undiscovery > Eternal Sonata > Phantasy Star Universe

Played and finished all of them but would only really recommend the first 3.

Also Star Ocean IV and Tales of Vesperia out in June. ToV is supposed to be very good. Sacred 2 also out in June.

Eternal Sonata - personally i think this a complete gem of a game and a bit underrated as a whole. While not realistic it has some of the best visual design ive seen in a game for a long time. I actually liked the rpg elements, it does get a bit repetitive with the button bashing but it keeps you on your toes with the combat.

Blue Dragon - i tried it but the characters just got on my nerves, i found the rpg elements very basic and tbh i got the impression it was quite a childish and cut down rpg, definitely one for the younger ones.

Lost Odyssey - got it, not got round to playing it yet but as has been said before its supposed to be very good.

Fallout3 is superb, completed it 3 times so far :)

It is similar to Oblivion, but shorter, Oblivion can take upwards of 60 hours to complete, plus there is a lot more depth to advancing the character, which is fun.

But you can't beat shooting Super Mutants with a railway gun :D
