Fallout 3 is like a smaller, modern version of oblivion. It's a brilliant game.

It's definitely goty for me (for last year)

From what I hear, Fallout 3 also fixes Oblivion's terrible levelling issues that plagued the game and destroyed it for a fair few people.

I.E. levelling up too much in the game would mean if you did a group quest with some NPC's and your supposed to be level 25 but you're level 50. You would be running around with friendly NPC's at level 25, but fighting off mobs of level 50+ chars.

I really enjoyed Oblivion on the PC but never got around to finishing it - think I might have to reinstall it and start it up again, really wanna play Fallout 3 now too :)

ok i got fallout yesterday and had a quick blast for an hour or so last night. got to megaton and decided to steal a few things from the shop :p but now when i leave there are angry people who kill me and the save game keeps starting me outside the shop so i just get killed over and over (crys).

have i learnt the hard way?

Yes you have! ;)

Lesson is, don't get caught :p

Plus the shop is well guarded by a merc, best leave it alone until you don't need Moira anymore

Yep, looks that way... advisable to nick stuff when no one is about..... or if you do, make sure you can kill them ;)

By default it will save everytime you enter a new building or area or fast travel.

thats good to know, should save me making the same mistake again:)

I find it's well worth making a new save every time you save.

I know it uses up loads of space, but sometimes I realise I've made a mistake or lost an item ages ago.

For example, I recently found out that I'd missed one of the bobble heads for the achievement, and was in a position where I couldn't go back to it. Fortunately I had a save back to a point where I could go and get it. :)
