Girls who can’t handle their drink!

You dont have a clue what you are on about. I have not been in a single pub, bar or club in Brighton, London, Bristol or anywhere else I have been that has CCTV in the toilets. The only things places do to combat cocanie use in toilets is have slanted surfaces, really course surfaces, regular bouncer checks etc.

Plenty of people get thrown out of clubs for posession without the police ever being notified. In fact, I dont think I've ever seen known the police to be notified, even when bouncers have caught people dealing inside.

Besides all that, it would be highly illegal to film people on the toilet, I would have thought that would be pretty bloody obvious.
I don't have a clue? Right.. I worked in pubs, clubs and bars as a doorman for a few years. Carry on..

I think it's worse when they can. My (Irish) girlfriend enjoys drinking my friends under the table, and when she found out that one of my friends had never downed a pint, not only did she immediately demonstrate, but when he failed to follow suit, she proceeded to go outside and publically shame him - mostly by getting a petite and slight 5ft thai girl to down the pint in question, and ensuring the video of the whole scenario was swiftly uploaded to facebook.

Puts a whole new meaning to the word ****ed. (Wee'd)

Well atleast the previous occupant flush or she could have ended up ****faced rather than peed. I wonder how much these sort of ads cost? You see so many different versions of the theme and they dont appear to be working. Probably because they get shown at times when everyone is out getting totalled.

I’m not a lawyer, I’ve never even had a single law class so hopefully someone will be able to clear this up properly but I have a real urge to play devils advocate here regardless of my own thoughts on any establishment actually having this setup, I’m under the impression that having a camera in a toilet isn’t always illegal.

People are touting ‘invasion of privacy’ but surely an invasion of privacy requires the reasonable assumption of privacy, a sign or warning no matter how understated on the door or wall of the toilets, somewhere that could be reasonably expected to be read by any user may actually clear any liability. Given the proper warnings the assumption of privacy could be removed, they’re under no obligation to offer toilets and you don’t have to use them, so I don’t think its completely absurd to assume its impossible!

I don’t think it’s likely to be the case but nor do I feel it fair to aggressively attack someone claiming to have experience in their job of this happening, open up a little, don’t be so closed off because unless you can state actual laws all we have is the assumption of what is reasonable and that varies from person to person and I definitely don’t think its bloody obvious nor sensible to assume that there isn’t a single establishment somewhere that has done something like this at some point in time, perhaps on misguided advice or a power trip that it may be legal with disclaimers.

i would also think its illegal to film people inside toilets - ive never seen a camera inside one either - but i dont exactly look out for them

Illegal - maybe. So are letting people smoke inside, and drink on the street, but it still happens in quite a number of places :p

I have seen bouncers kick toilet doors in to find blokes a sleep or unconscious on the bog with their pants down, they sweep the toilets every so often.

Seems strange only you have encountered them.

It's got to be deffo be illegal to video inside toilets like that. It invades privacy and how the hell do you know if someone isn't getting off on you while your on the toilet (I mean in the cases of female toilet here) or makes a collection of images and uploads them to the web?

I'm sorry but I think that's utter BS. If your violent or causing problems and they suspect drug use then all they need to do is drag you to the side (eyes never lie) and tell you to leave the premises. Besides if they WERE acually watching people on the toilet and throwing out the drug users then the clubs would be empty as hell. :)

There is simply no excuse to video somebody like that.

Onto the video now, yeah that was funny(ish) I think this would MAKE A GREAT ADVERT ON TV to show teens how stupid they look that drunk. Why girls do it, is beyond me as they are the vulnerable ones.

+1 for the "I've been in a bar where they use CCTV in the blokes toilets" - it was The Old House, Devonshire Street, Sheffield.

However, the argument for the 'it's to catch drug users' doesn't really stand, as it was just pointed at the urinals.

Maybe it's to catch people fighting?

Either way, it's not a nice thing to have.
