Even though I know this will be locked (eventually) warm salt water swilled around the affected area, also resting ice in the affected area.

Get drunk and itll numb the pain, that was my remedy till i got to the dentist yesterday after a filling came out on sunday.

Clove oil will do the job. Just alittle bit and it will make the area numb. Its not very nice stuff but it WILL take the pain away.

If it's really so bad you can't put up with it until the morning. Most dentists have an emergency number you can call.

Clove oil should help take the edge off it (works as a local anesthetic).

I completely cured an abscess once by drinking a very large amount of gin and tonic, no joke.

No, you didn't. As much as I am a fan of Gin and Tonic, it will not cure an abscess, although it will certainly numb you, if you drink enough.

Get some lidocaine and rub it on the area that is aching or try and enjoy the pain??
