10.5.7

It's a monster.

Ran software update - 280MB on the 2006 MBP, and 430MB on the 2009 Mini. Both on 10.5.6. Weird.

Decided to download the 443MB version from the website to save on a bit of bandwidth.
 
Nearly cacked myself when the MBP stopped at the first reboot with the fans screaming. Got a lovely alternating grey then blue screens. Pulled the power then back on, then it rebooted again then "updating boot cache" and another reboot and it's now OK.

Mini worked just fine.
 
Doesn't look like there's many noticeable changes, but downloading just to be part of the 'in crowd' :)
 
Seemed to install fine on my '09 Mac Mini ... no noticable differences (although the gmail manager addon to firefox does seem able to connect to check mail now which it was doing fine before the install .... but that's probably unrelated).
 
With the combo update, will I be able to install that over the normal 10.5.7 update I did last night?

Install 10.5.1 via software update > Something Doesn't Work > Argh > Combo Update > :)

Install 10.5.2 via software update > Something Doesn't Work > Argh > Combo Update > :)

Install 10.5.3 via software update > Something Doesn't Work > Argh > Combo Update > :)

Install 10.5.4 via software update > Something Doesn't Work > Argh > Combo Update > :)

That's when I stopped trusting Apple's ability to make delta updates that, you know, actually work!

They did apparently fix something to do with Software Update in 10.5.6 so perhaps i'm now just being overly paranoid :p

Saying all that every delta upgrade in Tiger worked purrrrfectly!

ahhh the good old days of Tiger, the days when Apple had everything sorted out. :D
 
It only just occurred to me to check! They changed it back :D
