Hi guys,

Please see the picture of my car's battery, as you can see it seems to have a lot of acid leak/erosion.

Should I be worried about this at all or is this normal?

Looks fine, dont see why acid would come out of the battery terminal, more likely to come out of the holes where you fill it up with water.

Just some sminge/corrosion from being exposed I think.

My lasses micra battery was like the 2nd pic. She had to get a new one as it died. The battery clip was so corroded that It wouldnt even tighten onto it. I had to cut up a jubilee clip to pad it out! The first pic is definately ok. Its just grease to stop it corroding with the weathe.

My battery gets like that second pic (although nowhere near as bad!)
Local mechanic said it can be normal for older cars (I have a '96 Micra) and he advised me to just pic it all off and smother the battery terminals with vaseline.
