There are a few full PS3 games on the PlayStation Store (Burnout is one of them) but not many. CoD isn't on there, no.

Not many (Burnout: Paradise, Warhawk, not sure what else) - personally would be put off buying full retail games on PSN - in particular no physical disc so you're severely limited if you don't like it / complete it and want to sell it on, and the prices are hardly competitive compared to what you could pay on the 2nd hand market for a disc version :)

GT5:P as well.

Unfortunately (for this game and others mentioned) the games that are sold on PSN and at retail are often the same price (maybe £1 difference) and the retail version ends up being cheaper due to pre-order prices/discounting etc.

This is the thing that tends to annoy me with digital distribution in general. It seems like it's used largely as a way for publishers to charge the full RRP for titles, rather than as a way to make games more accessible/convenient to buy.

Interesting comment you say here.. All the developers are crying that the secondhand market and not piracy is what is killing them... This would be one way to kerb the secondhand market... Unfortunately. :(

Yes, but you don't have to get out of your lazy chair/couch/bed and fiddle with discs if you want to play a different game.

I expect online purchases to be a bit cheaper due to not getting the physical product but sadly that's seldom the case.

I'd much rather buy games online but they're almost always too expensive.

Sadly you are right, i feel publishers are trying to just squeeze that little bit of extra profit out of online distribution if it is a full retail game. However i do love the way in which the PSN is handling games released solely in the playstation store. Examples of which are Wipeout HD; a game that is comparable to even some full releases for just a hair over £10, all of the pixeljunk games that cost less than £5 each etc etc. There's loads of really quality games available on the PSN for less than £5 which is really fantastic in my eyes.

I don't think the 2nd hand market should go, and hopefully it won't. i would really like to see a mechanism whereby if you buy a game and decide you don't want it you should be able to either:

- gift it to someone else
- trade it with someone else (or have the option of selling it at 'cyber-space market prices')
- sell it back to the distributor (within a timescale), minus a fee for renting out the game
- be able to rent full games online and have the option to buy at a discount

I don't want to complete a game and be stuck with it - I want the option of selling it and being able to trade it in at a reasonable market price for other games. Without the extra few £'s from being able to sell games second-hand, I would be less inclined to buy new games online anyway :)

Thats mostly down to the brick and motar stores demanding that prices are about the same or else they will not stock low profit items (for them) such as consoles.

Killing them my arse.People won't wait for a game to come on the 2nd hand market if they want it straight away. They'll get it day one.
