They are the same quality, level 8 just takes a fair bit longer to encode. However the playback (decoding process) is just as quick and you get the same result, merely different file sizes.
those speakers will be more sensitive than the missions - ie louder at any given input. you shouldnt need more power at all unless the B&W's present some awkward loads to the amplifier. in fact if anything, you should need less!

So is level 8 lowest file size or is level 0 lowest?
Level 8 is the compression level that takes the longest to encode, so yes it produces the smallest files. Couldn't you deduct that from what I said?
The bigger speakers will (probably) be more efficient, so for 1 watt of input they produce a higher sound pressure level and thus will be louder than your old speakers with the same amount of power.
What you are confusing it with is the higher power rating the larger speakers can take.
No point having a CD player if you haven't got any CD'sWhy have a CD player if all my music is on my PC?

Use the one which sounds best to you at the levels you need
]Decided to sell as many as i could after ripping them. Only i ripped most of the cds i had many years ago so they are in 128kbps instead of anything bigger, due to the hard drive space i had at the time![]()
That would be illegal and I can't imagine why you got rid of a lossless origional to keep a crumby 128kbps MP3 that was a major mistake. I've carted my CD collection around for years including 8 or so as a student just wrap the rack in clingfilm and bung them in the car.
