Hey guys,

A friend on another forum is after a sub-£500 system with the following spec:

- a MINIMUM of 10 USB ports, with at least two on the front. More is better, and I don't want a load of external hubs all over the place, so the machine MUST have at least 10 ports of its own. (Or at least, enough free PCI slots for internal hubs.)

- a beefy power supply to cope with all that USB crap I've got plugged in.

- Windows XP, or no OS so that I can install Windows XP.

- enough physical space/free slots inside the case to fit the enormous high-powered graphics card I've currently got sitting in a box doing nothing. Either that or coming with a modestly-decent graphics card built-in - one that's, say, good enough to play the hottest games of 2007.

- 400GB minimum main hard drive.

- 4GB RAM.

- reasonably quiet cooling system.

Any ideas? Thanks :)

Budget?
Intel or AMD?
Gaming , yes/no?

Edit: so he already has a GPU? Which one?

Yes, a lot of questions

All of those questions are answered in the thread! Budget is sub-£500, Intel/AMD doesn't matter at all - fastest the budget can afford, and as for gaming - something that can play "the hottest games of 2007", so nothing massively powerful by today's standards I can assume.

The graphics card he already has is a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850.

OMG, I can’t Believe I asked for the Budget when it’s in the title, sorry.
Oh ,He already has the HD4850; this should make things a lot cheaper.

I will have a spec Ready soon: D

It probably would be better to get an AMD, but I don’t understand them, I’ll put this in anyway:

You could get a lesser CPU cooler, but this is both Quiet and Very good at cooling. The CPU is fast at Stock but with the Motherboard and CPU cooler Selected, you should overclock it to 3.6 GHz

with ripped's spec you could change the cooler to the Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir, seen a post of some testing rjkoneill and yemen (ocuk) did and they seemed think it was pretty decent.

Yeah, I considered that, but I was reading some reviews and apparently it is loud which the OP doesn’t want
