The Samsung OmniaHD i8910 ... this NEEDS it's own thread.

I'd happily have the phone with a 'software issue' and update it when the new firmware becomes available.

Same here, I am sure the will release software updates like for the N95, it turned from a bugged phone into a real good one.

What exactly are they testing?
I think that Samsung did enoguh testing in factory, dont you think so?

What is the Samsung PC software like by the way? I really hope its better than Nokia's offering, never been a big fan of that PC suite on my N95.

It's virtually the same. To be honest, I don't even use PC Suite anymore. I do all my syncing over the air.

I liked it simply for the ability to text using my keyboard when at the computer, but the syncing times when new messages arrived were horrendous. Was hoping for an improvement!

Big (and somewhat Orange sucky) article here http://www.live-pr.com/en/samsung-and-orange-release-samsung-i-r1048277019.htm

Says O2 will be over next few days too.

Personally after having played with the 5800 for the last couple of months I think unless the Symbian OS is tweaked that no amount of capacitive goodness or uber processing is going to make it a less annoying experience. I started off loving Symbian 9.5 and am now really getting irked by it, especially the double tapping in menus.

As usual Orange are trying to put some customers off until later in the month for this phone by telling us they dont have it yet when its obviously being released now, this really ****es me off, ive been with orange now for over 10 yrs and they treat us like idiots

ben from mobiles.co.uk posting on here said the phone was due yesterday on Orange but put back to next week plus orange (over the phone)are saying the same thing. Maybe your friend/the shop hasn't been updated yet with the latest info.

I really am tempted by this phone, it does everything I'm wanting, and does it well, it's just so big.

Haven't tried one in the flesh yet though, so I can't really be sure untill I try it.

I'm going to hold off until I can see what deal O2 have.

I'm really tempted with the Racoon40, having the 1200mins, and unlimited landlines, the 500txts is neither here or there as I rarely text, and the 500Mb data I'm sure is 'similar' to the O2 web bolt on, 500Mb is I think more than enough.

Was going to go for the Tocca Ultra but when I saw this has the 720 HD recording AND WiFi, then those two things I think are worth the wait for me.

Would like to go with Orange as I'm getting miffed off with O2 and their monthly bodge up on my account for the last 18mths, but, dunno. Choices choices.

This is putting me off the OMNIA HD. I was planning on trying this out - I currently use the iPhone; use it all the time and everything just works and flows well - I wanted a change which I think the OMNIA would satisfy me on.

But maybe just keep to the iPhone.

Just been into my local Orange store (Chester), they said they have the phone in stock. They took delivery this morning, and offered me a pay monthly deal there and then....

SO wanted to, but holding out for my sim unlocked version from Play.

Ive had an OMNIA (non HD version) for many months now and I can tell you right now that even though they have dropped windows mobile OS and gone for symbian, and improved the screen and camera etc, that you will still prefer the iphone after using this.

Its kind of sad really as the iphone's specs are dire in comparison to even my omnia, and more so the omnia HD. But the fact remains that the iphone just works out the box, has tons of creative apps that you will not find on the omnia (regardless what anyone says) and also has a slick layout and appearance.

On my omnia I have to download all sorts of apps, update stuff, tweak the registry (yes, the registry) just to make the phone look good, usable with your thumb, and work as a phone, and I still have problems now and again.

Which is why the omnia has become nothing more than a very decent divx player for me now.
