What is the model of your router? May I suggest an Airport Extreme? I replace my Linksys with an AE and it improved things no end for all 802.11n enabled devices in the house.

A last resort fix of course, but seeing as you have already set foot in the dark side

Turn off all wireless security, see if that makes any difference. I'm not suggesting leaving it like that, it's just for a trial.

Right, I'm getting the same speeds in a VM with both bridged and NAT connections. I'll try Feek's idea soon, but I can't do any WIFI changes for a few days.

Hold down the option key and click on the Wi-Fi symbol in the menubar (OS X)

That will give you some more information, it won't fix anything but you won't have to rely on third party reporting tools.
