Do you think most people buy the very lastest topend GPU cards because...........

the answer for myself is not listed there...
the reason I upgrade my graphics card is to play the games I want to play with a good level of eye candy (medium-high) at the resolution I play it in..
but I think most people upgrade because of 2.

1 and 2, but in the case of 8, jeez I would have doubled tally by now since Feb (when I bought the card)...and whatever number of women you think I have done well, you are not even close :p lol :D

10. Beacuse they THINK they need the extra power.

I would have no problem with spending £300 on a card if I knew it was going to last a long time. Sadly this is rarely the case. 8800GTX - yes. 3870x2 - no. (I didnt have either of these, they are just examples of cards that were about £350)

None of the above. I bought my 8800GTX because I thought it would make porn films load faster, how wrong I was :D That aside, it's still serving me quite well on a 24'' Dell. No plan to upgrade anytime soon.

should probably get a 3d monitor along with it to make the experience even better :D

EPEEN!!!!!! :D Tho getting the very top stuff is like taking steroids. For a while you are the man swinging it around, but once something new comes out it shrivels up and isn't so cool any more. :P

Until I can run all my games at 16Q-AA with supersampling transparency, at 1920, and never see a dip below 60fps, even off the starting grid, I will keep upgrading.
PC's are just slow but, I mean they STILL can't run MS Train Sim properly and it's like 7 years old.

Same here. Problem is i like a lot of high end games lol :).

1, 2 and 7.

My card does play all the games I play fine (except Crysis) so other than the excuse of playing Crysis maxed-out, I suppose I just want to buy a shiny new card.
