Hey,

Just considering my latest build, as it stands atm...im tempted to go for:

Overclocked i7 D0 Bundle
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
Coolermaster Silent Pro Modular 700W Power Supply
OCZ Solid Series 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive

Now im unsure with GFX card, i want a card that can play all current games. Yet i want to ability to upgrade, at note a huge cost.

I was tempted to go straight for the GTX 295, but after reading around, it seems either getting 1 GTX275, or 1 HD 4890 seems the best option for the time being, then if any more "demanding" games come out over the next year, buy another (the same as what i decide to buy) and go SLI or Crossfire X.

Can any of you offer advice to me? What card would be best to go for if it will play all current games, but also be upgradeable to future proof my machine.

Thanks,
Lee

Are any price drops expected for the GTX 295 with the new single PCB revision that Nvidida are developing?

I was looking at the 275, but im such a "noob" when it comes to memory size, clock speed etc and see the big numbers on the 4890 and think its instantly better.

I'm in the exact same boat as you atm - coming from a 8800GTX and looking @ ethier 3 of the cards.

However, with the upcoming release of the 1GHz Factory OC'd HD4890s I think I'll end up with one of those to tide me over until the DirectX11 cards..

Yeah, im on a 8800GTX atm aswell, the 4890 Black Edition is expected into OCUK on the 20th May. So i think ill grab one of those. And either get another in a year or so for Crossfire, or wait for DX11 cards like you say.
