this tbh...
its not like they simply suspected he committed a crime, he was chased from the vehicle - was only a swift kick and quite frankly it seems like the guy got what he deserved.
If they did the same to joy riding chavs in the UK it would only be a +ve thing IMO
He was a bit silly really... I didn't even get the impression the police were out to arrest him, they merely wanted him to step out of the car probably for a routine search... he tried to be a smartarse and got a little roughed up for it... his injuries looked pretty superficial to me compared to what he'd have got if those cops were out to give him a good beating - they were mostly fairly well built.
He should have left the car instead of being a smart arse.

I honestly, hand on heart would not complain if I was kicked once in the head for trying to out run a copper. In fact, i would expect it.Another intelligent GD poster who wouldn't say that if he got kicked in the head.
Each to their own, personally I wouldn’t expect it.
Yeah, if you're trying to run away from police, you could expect a beating.
But does that justify kicking someone when they're down and surrendering? Or because he was committing a crime, does that mean he's free to be beaten? If a kid steals a car, and then tries to run after crashing it, is it okay to kick him in the head, despite him being on the ground?

Please note that as much as the media would have you believe otherwise, the policies and discipline of the modern police force is far better than it was over 25 years ago.
As someone currently going through police training, albeit as a Special Constable, I can assure you we are all taught thoroughly what is acceptable force, when force is no longer necessary, and when extra force may be required. Any use of extreme force as shown in the video is down to the individual and can't be generalised to a police force as a whole.
A slight difference methinks. A pretty poor comparism.
And thats what I don't understand. Why is a cop kicking a surrendered and compliant person in the head acceptable to some. Heaven forbid it was to happen to someone who's posted in this thread or someone they know or love.
If someone resists arrest then they get what ever happens to them, if they surrender then they should just be arrested.
It's got to start somewhere.

I think the stories are a little too different to compare, for a start in this one the guy was definitely the criminal. But anyway, both unacceptible.

Im disappointed by the action of this police officer, if this had taken place in Texas the outcome would have been much more sensible......he'd have kicked him in the nuts.
