Live build - Saturday 16th May :-)

My OCZ says 1.65v. Is this the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage or DRAM Bus Voltage. WHen i put DRAM Bus Voltage = 1.65 (it went to 1.66 beacuse of 0.02 increments) i got a warning about CPU damage. Ideas?

Well - i've now got 20 ratio, 180 and 1.2v - Everest is reporting 3.6Mhz - 35% oc! I have no clue what i'm doing but it's fun.

Right - let's see my Black Shark frame rate now...

Just come across this. That's a really nice build, especially for a first time! That case is massive, too. Really good thread - the kind of thing that makes these forums the no. 1 resource for PC stuff.

OK - so what's next. I've had a play, am on 3.6 mhz but it's not happy because black shark pauses every few seconds. Not sure how to sort out the CPU volts, DRAM freq and DRAM volts. Suggestions?

What would be the best stable o/c without changing the voltages?
Try running Prime 95 before anything else for a bit to check if it is initially stable.

No idea - i just jumped in there at 3.6 mhz for a laugh :) I'm cranking back to 3.4 with auto volts on everything to see what it does.

Will download prime 95 now cos using BS to check the stability is quite time consuming and probably 'not done' :)

ok - so i have 18 * 180 = 3.2mhz, auto everything and things are well with Black Shark. What's my best bet for making some increase from here? I'm fairly sure my DRAM should be at 1.64v but only from something i read earlier, which might have been totally wrong.

hey, Just a bit of advice for you wiring. Your 24pin power cable you should take it out throw one of the pre cut holes and then back in throw the other hole above it. Your 8 pin power, get an extension cable about a 5iver and take that aroind the back of the case into a hole above your mobo. The heatsink fans are easy but youve not alined them porperly. Reconnect the fans so the cable out is facing direct to the top right of you mobo and top left of you mobo. As the connects are very close this way you can fold the cable in third and zip tye them up and straight in to you mobo.

Good ideas on the power cables but both impossible i'm afraid due to the case design and cable lengths. WRT to the heat sync fans - i'll take a look at them tomorrow, sounds like a good plan. THanks!

Gonna stop posting on this thread and move myself over to the OC area. Just want to thank everyone again for their input and patience, I couldn't have finished the build successfully tomorrow. Still can't believe i put the PSU in upside down :) oops
