L.A. Officer kicks suspect in the head!

I think the stories are a little too different to compare, for a start in this one the guy was definitely the criminal. But anyway, both unacceptible.

I know they are very different but my point is once we accept what happened in the video the OP posted, how long would it be till we find what happened to Stephen Waldorf acceptable? Maybe never but it's possible.

Oh who gives a ****? Tree hugging ****** hippies.

Run from police, expect a beating. It's quite, quite simple. We've gone too soft as it is.

The guy who was running presumably committed a crime, and ran. But the police officer also committed a crime, assault. Does that mean I can go kick the police officers face in now? Police officers are not there to hand out their own illegal justice.

And thats what I don't understand. Why is a cop kicking a surrendered and compliant person in the head acceptable to some. Heaven forbid it was to happen to someone who's posted in this thread or someone they know or love.

If someone resists arrest then they get what ever happens to them, if they surrender then they should just be arrested.

Because some people would argue that offenders deserve that extra bit of punishment, perhaps disregarding the fact that their punishment will be decided upon by the courts, or perhaps due to a lack of faith in the justice system.

Either way you can't compare a police officer allowing adrenaline and a bit of a temper meaning they give a prisoner an extra kick with a completely mistaken identity leading to the wrong person being shot.

Whilst it may seem wrong to kick a criminal in the head, treating criminals softly is not good either. So a criminal gets kicked in the head, big deal.

To be honest it looked like he slipped on the wet grass, clearly an accident :p

Though the commentator said "looks like he kicked him in the shoulder" It is kind of hard to tell if it was the shoulder or head, but I watched it a few times, looked kind of like the top of his noggin to me.

Great! If only UK police would be so heavy handed then it might put some fear into criminals. Guy made the cop run, I'd want to kick him in the head too! :p

I once had my head pushed down to the floor and multile cacter (spelling is wrong probably, but thats what they refer to it as) cartridges emptied on to my face about 1" away. That is far more heavy handed than a kick.

As a side note, nothing was done about that in court.. Apparently there wasnt enough evidece. Despite 6 police being present, and about 3 of them having wildly different statements. One of them even accused me of throwing him in to the line of traffic and trying to stamp on his head, which simply didnt happen.. He then withdrew his statement, but again.. He got away with it.

You're ignorant if you think stuff like this doesnt happen this side of the Atlantic.

American police officers definitely more heavy-handed than they are over here in the UK - maybe more concerned that a gun could be pulled out at any time?

In America it seems as though you need to wear body armour to avoid being tasered and shot from the police rather than the masses of criminals with guns these days. The police are not here to give out punishment, they don't know the facts of the situation, the person could have been totally mental or the cars accelerator out of control.

I can't tell of some of the people in this thread are serious, but anyone who thinks this is acceptable is rather foolish.

Yes, in this instance he was guilty but but it isn't always so black and white and it is not a good idea for the cops to start dishing out punishments.

**** the police.

This^^^^.

Car accelerators make you sprint away from the police on foot ?

What a shame the eye-in-the-sky had a camera pointing at the copper at the time!?

He should have done more than kick the guy in the head, perhaps one or two to the ribs for good measure.

Making that officer run all that way like....:p

That's called panic. It's not as though it would be the first time an innocent person ran away from the police, anyway it doesn't matter what the reason is, the police don't know the full situation.

I'd agree if it wasn't for his final comment.

You have obviously never experienced police brutality I have! They called it assault on police officers I called it self defense so **** the pig pig Piggy's:). Not all of them though, there are some nice coppers;).

Then aim your comments at the ones who committed "police brutality" on you, not the police force in general.
