Congratulations to Liverpool

That sums Benitez up for me in one line. He would love to say a lot but hasn't got the courage to do so. So many times this season we have had to hear this absolute drivel on SkySports, ITV and MoTD

As for the money issue it really wouldn't be an issue if he didn't buy players not befitting the Liverpool shirt. Some of his purchases have been shoddy at best. And yes Ferguson has done exactly the same yet he doesn't go out every year and buy substandard quality.

Snip......

Not sure I agree with you in your earlier post. I don't think Liverpool have had any more luck than any other team. As much as it's pains me to say it they have pushed damn hard this year and with a better manager who didn't get embroiled in a battle of words with Ferguson then Liverpool would be champions today.

Cup runs can have an element of luck. League position 2 with 80+ points is not luck by any stretch of the imagination

What did he say that was wrong? We can't compete financially, we make far less money than Utd and Arsenal because of the stadiums.

And Utd have spent far more than us.

As for congratulating Ferguson. Why should he? He congratulated Utd as a Club which is far more than most Liverpool fans would do :p

Blind fan believes the propaganda. Face it. Benitez is a Blubbering whale.

When will fans and Benitez realise, it is not how much you friggin' spend but how you spend it, the players you bring in....

Baz, the man has no class, simple as. Sugar coat it all you like, but he lacks it. Excuse after excuse after excuse, referees are corrupt, Man Utd have easier fixtures, injuries to Torres and Gerrard (basically saying he has a two man team), Man Utd have more money, blah blah, best team doesn't always win the league it just means they have the most points, Man Utd have spent x amount, we have only spent this amount. Straws. Clutching. He ****ed it up in January when he opened his big mouth and he knows it. You know. Everyone knows it.

Surely his famous 'rant' shows he has the courage to say things?

It's easy to sit there and say he's spent x amount at Liverpool and should have bought better but it's not easy to sign players befitting the Liverpool shirt for £5-6m. And in his first 3 seasons we were only able to spend over £10m on a player once (Alonso for £10.7m) and we're only able to sign the odd £15-20m player now thanks to the success of some our Benitez's cheaper signings (Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Kuyt etc) as we don't need to replace 6 players every year.

Anyway he must be doing something right if, despite buying substandard players every year, he's managed to close the gap on the leaders from ~30 points when he took over to just 4 points now. Maybe he's a tactical genius :p

I see you just like to read headlines ;)

On the 2 occasions we've had stories about Gerrard and Torres' injuries have cost us the title, neither occasion Benitez actually said it. In the most recent occasion he was asked about Gerrard winning the writers award and he said Gerrard has had a good season but could have been better had he not had the injuries and it's the same with Torres.

No doubt Benitez has said some wrong things but as well as being Glory Hunters, Utd fans are (in general of course) the biggest hypocrites in football (like Fergie). Ferguson and Fat Sam's attack on Benitez was beyond pathetic, and it shows just how much class they have too. It was also pointed out on the Sunday Supplement the other week that Fat Sam and Fergie had done similar things to Wenger when Arsenal were a threat to you.

Ferguson is the King of backhanded complements and sly digs.

Hiddink is a tactical genious just like wheeler dealer harry. They both get given the ****test team around and turn them into top flight contenders. Just watch Spurs will be above Liverpool next season. But obviously this will all be due to the billions at harry's disposal.

Oh and yet again Liverpool fell short of the Premier League. When did they last win it?

Irrespective of the Liverpool/Man.U. amounts spent it's wrong of him to suggest that he can't compete economically with Arsenal when he's spent far more than they have during his tenure.
Can't remember the last time Arsenal were able to blow £20m on a player only to realise a few months later that he's not what they want and let him go for a big loss.

Maybe so but he was asked the importance of us building our stadium and he's given 2 examples of stadiums that generate far more money than Anfield. And if we believe the Arsenal board about how much money they have in the bank then in a way it is fair to say we can't compete as at the end of the day it's down to Wenger to spend it and he seemingly decides not to.

And we might make a profit on Keane if Spurs are as successful as dave thinks :p

Baz, I thought you would have at least given me more credit than reading headlines, c'mon dude. :(

This whole thing is bigger than just simply having a bigger transfer kitty. Man Utd have been thinking bigger and more globally than Liverpool for the last 20yrs. It has brought us many rewards, a lot of success and lots of potential for the future, and I'm not just talking about on the pitch. Think big, achieve big.

Im sorry :p

But you wouldn't have wrote what you did had you actually known what Benitez said rather than read a nonsense story or headline.

No doubt about that. We've suffered because of the way our club was run off the pitch during the 90's. Prior to winning the CL in '05 we didn't have a shirt sponsor for the new season and when Carlsberg finally did decide to renew the deal it was for peanuts. As much as i hate our **** Yank owners, they have dramatically improved the running of the club off the field.

And as we all know, Sky know **** all. Every where that reported Fergies 'rant' said he was completely wrong.

edit: Nokkon, you talk about Benitez not having any class, what did you think about the BS Fergie and Fat Sam came out with after Rafa's 'game-over' jesture? You also said Kuyt lacked class for taking the **** after we scored our 3rd vs Hull, what about Evra doing the same thing vs Wigan?

What Evra did was a retort to an original gesture, it was quite funny. After watching Benitez again, I was wrong, it wasn't a bad gesture. Ferguson didn't lack class by his comment though, he was defending a friend, big difference.

Never has Ferguson slammed a manager for no reason, never has he made total rubbish up for no reason, never has he not shook the hand of a rival manager, nor made a point of complimenting a team and not a manager intentionally.

Let's face it, your manager is a ****, this can't be helped by fans, but just don't defend him.

But Kuyt doing the same was showing a lack of class though?

Come on Nokkon, you know that's not true. Everybody knows full well that it was a set-up.

Never has Ferguson slammed a manager for no reason, never has he made total rubbish up for no reason, never has he not shook the hand of a rival manager, nor made a point of complimenting a team and not a manager intentionally.

Ferguson has made up total rubbish (as above), he has refused to shake a rival managers hand (JM when he was Porto manager, not sure when Benitez has refused to though) and like i said before, he's the King of backhanded compliments
