Hi all, first of all I'm French so sorry if i make a few mistakes. I have a new comp with a e8400 and a 9800gt .

I tried to O/C them with standard fan cooling. That work fine but.........it's to damn hot.

So I've order a Zalman vf1000 and a Noctua U-12P. But I've an another problem, i have Windows 7 (and i really love it compare to vista 64 xD), and rivatuner don't work with my GC drivers (which are 185.xx), and i want to overclock it ! (also a few soft/games crash/don't work with seven but never mind this new windows rock !).

My questions are:

Should i go back to vista ?, i don't want to O/C my GC with bios editing, that will take me years (I'll edit bios when I'll be sure about my mhz).

Do you guys thinks there'll be a new rivatuner version in the next few days (about 3 days :p) that will support seven nvidia's driver ?. (keep dreaming didi :( )

Or maybe there's another soft that let me take the control of my GC in "live" to test the stability and find the maximum possibility of my 9800gt ?. (don't tell me ntune please i HATE this ****)

Thank you for you future answers, and again sorry for the mistakes.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I don't have an answer to your questions, but you might have more luck in the Overclocking forum or the Graphics forum.

If you can easily go back to Vista and test the card then I would do that rather than wait for an update to rivatuner, depending on how desperate I was.

And your English seems very good - better than my French. :p

Thank you for your fast answer and for the compliment about my english .

I think I'll change to vista , I really would like to test my configuration and see how far i can go with it.

I'll try in the overclocking forum , thank again .

rivatuner don't work with my GC drivers

You have to manually add the driver in RivaTuner:

Go to the "Power user" tab.

Expand "RivaTuner\System" and scroll down to "ForceDriverVersion".

Enter the version of your driver WITHOUT the "." e.g. for 185.85, enter "18585".

Restart RivaTuner and you should now be able to OC!

As for making mistakes, your post makes a lot more sense than most people on here so don't worry about it. :p

+1 for evga precision. Works very well.

I recommend bios editing though, as it is very easy and much tidier than software. nibitor and nvflash is all you need.

edit: That's better English than I've seen from a fair few native English speakers, you're doing well :)

Thank you very much for your reply, i've tested evga precision and it work like a charm :p.

I think i dont need to modify rivatuner anymore till egva give me what i want to :), i'll stay on seven (thx O/C forum) and wait for my new fan cooling system to O/C my config.

doesnt work, "ForceDriverVersion" doesnt let you enter 18585, it only lets you enter a 1 or a 0, i just tried it
