Ben Stiller on Jonathan Ross

Nobody ever wants to be there. It's more about Wossy saddling up to his guests and trying to be funny, which nine times out of ten results in some of the most cringe-worthy TV in the UK. He doesn't ask interesting questions and I'm not surprised his guests are miffed sometimes. Having said that, I don't particularly like Ben Stiller - he tends to be a bit of a grumpy git in every interview I see him in.

Yeah, he didnt look happy to be there, the sell out. lol

M&M on the other hand, im not a fan but I have to say he came across quiet well. I thought he would have been one for attitude on the show, but he seemed like an alright guy.

IF Guest = male then
jonathon.ross = mickey_take
else
IF Guest = female then
jonathon.ross = attempt_to_get_on
End If

Caveat being IYHO...

Personally I really enjoy the show... (It's the only TV I watch on a Friday night)

Are "Guest" and "guest" two seperate variables? Surely they'd be one?

Also, you don't need two "End If" ;)

Also, re Graham Norton, I actively turn it off if it comes on these days. it'd now just unfunny and he is dowright rude about people in his "joke's".
He also over-plays the gay card, the same with Jonathan Ross and his anti-gay "joke" at the expense of "4 Poofs and a piano", who I suppose, with a name like that, doesn't really help much ;)

Thought Eminem came accross rather well. :)

To be honest the Beeb doesn't really have bad interviewers, but I suppose an outlandish loud one is needed as part of the spectrum.

Cue Ross, he's not actually that funny or witty, his questions are plain weird at times. The only reason that people watch him is for the guests and it was almost forgiveable to look the other way at just how bad Ross is.

The trouble is, after that daft stunt on Andrew Sachs', I've lost a lot of patience tbh...

Beeb should have never got rid of Parky :(

I thought he retired?

For me, as an interviewer, he tends to do a nice mix of interesting, serious and light hearted questions.

Got to disagree with that, his interviews are terrible. He doesn't get either third of what you said at all. I think the problem is that as you say it is a bit light hearted chit chat - and he doesn't quite know what to say to people. I mean, it's like he's been told to appeal to everybody, and he's oddly enough put quite a few off.

Somewhat harsh don't you think? Anyway, it's interesting that we don't really have a 'serious' interviewer these days?

Not before going to ITV for a few years first because BBC thought MOTD was more important than his show.

Lowest common denominator (kind of like American TV) - you must cater to the chavs who are uneducated and uncultured so you cannot possibly have a good, serious interview.

That doesn't really make any sense now does it... There's plenty of room on TV for diversity. So I'm just not sure why at the moment there's no serious celebrity interviews going on (akin to old Parky).

I actually watch the show every week (if I'm at home), and I do enjoy it, but it makes me cringe more than anything else. I can sit through The Office/Curb/whatever, but Wossy's interview technique has me squirming in my seat and looking away. URGH!
