Congratulations to Liverpool

you're the one who stated that non of the other decisions were even questionable, and no, the ref got it wrong with Boswinga and unfortunately while the FA has the power to overturn a wrongly given straight red card it doesn't have the authority to overrule a decision that the referee has spotted and dealt with at the time. The ref had a poor game, Gerrard for instance could have gone.

I'm not fussed as we won the league and all that but your statement about the other red cards being unquestionable was wrong and to be honest the Boswinga thing was a bit irrelevant.

I said they weren't questionable because they weren't. Friedel's red card was as clear as they come imo. Just because the FA thought otherwise that doesn't mean they made the correct decision and the fact that the PGMO (who you'd hope would know a bit about the rules of the game) complained about their decision would make you think that their decision was wrong.

I mentioned the Boswinga incident as it highlights the incompetence of the FA (and they can overrule a decision that the referee spotted, they choose not to though).

Out of interest, what's your opinion about the red card?

An F.A. statement was released, in response to Bosingwa decision, which stated: "Under the FIFA Laws of the Game, The F.A. is prohibited from taking disciplinary action when incidents are seen at the time by the match officials."

Mike Riley confirmed in his post match report that the linesman did see the incident.

As to the red card I actually thought the FA showed a degree of common sense, In an ideal world I would have given Liverpool the penalty but allowed Friedel to stay on the pitch as he did attempt to not take Torres out. would have seemed fair.

Ah I'm stupid so I couldn't comprehend what you were talking about.

Which was ****, like it always is with you and MU discussions

Oh shutup, and take your daily anti-tourette's pill, you've been forgetting recently.

i haven't said anything bad so stop crying.

Under the FIFA Laws of the game, the FA shouldn't have appeals for anything other than mistaken identity. They have chosen to ignore that rule but have chosen to oblige(sp) to this 1.

As for the red card, i said at the time that it's unfair etc but that's not what the rules say. The referee made the right decision and you know it :p

Maybe this is an example of where the rule should be changed but as it stands he deserved to go.

Who's crying? :D

You called me stupid because I disagreed with you, like I said it's pointless having an argument with you.

Jog on.

:)

Funnily enough, another MU fan has done some research because he was ****ed off at the moaning.

I give you.

Late winners (last 10 minutes):
Liverpool: seven (five in injury time)
(Torres '83 vs. Sunderland... Pogatetz '85 & Gerrard '90 vs. Boro... Kuyt '90 vs. City... Kuyt '85 vs. Wigan... Torres '89 & '90 vs. Chelsea... Torres '90 vs. Portsmouth... Benayoun '90 vs. Fulham)

Man Utd: five (three in injury time)
(Vidic '90 vs. Sunderland... Tevez '83 vs. Stoke... Berbatov '90 vs. Bolton... Macheda '90 vs. Villa... Carrick '86 vs. Wigan)

Red cards for:
Liverpool: ten (!!) in 37 ****ing games!
(Vidic x2, Tim Cahill, Dunne, A. Valencia, Adebayor, Friedel, Folan, Barton, Lampard)
Man Utd: two
(Andy Wilkinson of Stoke... Paul Robinson of West Brom)

Red cards against:
Liverpool: zero. Not a single one.
Man Utd: five
(Vidic x2... Ronaldo... Scholes... Rooney)

Penalties for:
Liverpool: five
(vs. Portsmouth... vs. Man Utd... vs. Villa (x2)... vs. West Ham)
Man Utd: four
(Ronaldo vs. Bolton... vs. Everton... vs. Liverpool... vs. Spurs)

Penalties against:
Liverpool: two
(Ronaldo... Mido)
Man Utd: three
(Giovanni... Gerrard... D. Murphy)

Also, before anybody tries to bring up the 'penalties at OT' bit, Liverpool at Anfield were awarded three penalties and not one was given to the opposition, while at Old Trafford Man Utd were awarded three and three were given against us.

Food for thought.

Any team who get to fourteen Premiership games in a row without conceeding a single goal should if there is any sense be half way to winning the League in the first place (because I cant believe that anyone would get any huge number of 0-0's in that run if they are that good to start with, baring in mind that you would never get all three relegated teams home and away in that run etc etc)

Thats a phenomenal run - and if thats Utd playing badly then so be it

Yeah I know some if not more wherent the most exciting of games - and I would much prefer 14 games vs Hull at OT for example (a 4-3 home win which was kinda fluked) but credit is due to that run alone imo, even whilst not scoring many at the other end (or any in some cases)

hmmmm and here I thought Kiko's other goal was also pretty late in the day

Interesting Gimp, save that for the next time they get out of line :)

Pointless.

All you get back is the "No but, Yeah but, No but, Yeah but, No but, Yeah but...........whatever"

Cracking set of stats they are. I knew Liverpool had scored far more late goals than us and that they'd played against ten men quite often, but I never realised it was that bad. SOme of the other stats are quite interesting too :)

Interesting to say the least, kind of urinates on ones strawberries.

Unless it's United that it goes for, ofcourse ;)

I haven't said that, in fact i don't think any Liverpool fan on here has said that.

You are right though, you should be docked points in actual fact.

edit: and you can **** off MrG, just because we've overtaken you lot. I shouldn't really expect much from you though, you regard us as your biggest rivals these days. Shows how much history Chelsea have :p
