I currently use my laptop as my music source and have the following:
Gale Mini-Monitors
Pioneer A-300R

The sound quality is great and it's very clear and enjoyable, but there is simply no bass. I enjoy a lot of rock/metal/indie but have recently been getting into drum n bass, which sounds rubbish on this system. So what should I do?

The amp only has stereo output and no sub-out kinda thing. I would really like to somehow add big dirty subwoofer into the equation in all honesty. Budget wise, as little as possible really <£100.

I have been told that this amp is ripe for some modifications with a bloke called Tom Evans, but this sounds expensive!

Thanks

Don't bother with modding, buy a better amp if needed.

Check the back of the amp first, does it have pre-out sockets ?

most subs have normal speaker connectors, you just put your amp directly through them, then make use of the other pair of normal speaker output to go to your speakers. the sub will just take care of the lower end, leaving the signal without the low end to go out to your speakers.

an image should make this more clear.

Don't buy cheap subs for music as it will be flabby overblown bass that sounds awful. I would look at getting a better pair of speakers, have you got room for floorstanding speakers?

Or consider a BK Gemini. More than your budget, but it is worth the expenditure to pay that little more for a decent sub.
