I don't really know anything about lenses - but was the star portion magnified? Or was that actually viewable by the naked eye? :eek:

No, the camera is set up with a long exposer. 20 Seconds per picture means the small trickle of light not normally visible can be seen, with the camera only.

It was recorded using a fish eye lens, which has a wider angle of view then normal.

The camera also has had the image sensor/filter (AA screen modified to record hydrogen alpha at 656 nm) modified to allow the picture to be taken.
