Doesn't bother pc gamers. I know its a console and its "plug in and play" but its hypocritical of 360 owners to bash the ps3's install to hdd but praise installing an entire game just so the disc drive doesn't make any noise.
But the thing with MGS4 is you need to install it every single time a new chapter comes up, regardless whether or not you have done it before. It would be different if it let you install it all in one go and thats it done forever, but you can't.
As much as i loved MGS4 i very much agree with this. I wanted to jump between savegames once and look at all of the best cutscenes. I quickly gave up as i was having to spend a few mins every time installing each chapter. The option to install the entire game would have been an ideal addition.
As good a news as MGS5 would be, especially after MGS4 which was very good (not a masterpiece, but still one of the best games of last year), I would much rather it be a new ZOE game.
If it's a new MGS game then I truly hope we don't see it til the launch of the Playstation 4.

I recently fired up ZOE2 to replay it. It's still an utterly sublime game, by far the best mech action game ever made imo.
I agree! How annoying would it be if you installed COD 4 on your PC - only to find that when you get to Section 2 the game was closed for another installation session...
Not at all, PC games are fully installed, only checking the disc, Xbox360 installing isn't even required, but is optional on all games, on PS3 it is required but the speed of loading is still quite often behind that of an Xbox360 uninstalled game. Not only that, but MGS4 needed an install before every single act, which in this day and age is criminal.
Doesn't stop MGS4 being a great game, but it does stop it going one step further, without doubt.
I agree. I remember buying ZOE to get the MGS2 demo and soon realised that I wasn't that impressed by MGS2 (which I still bought only to really quite dislike) but loved ZOE. As the old cliche goes, it checked all the boxes, in terms of character design it's unsurpassed for a mech game, graphically, even on PS2 it was stunning and was only matched very late on in the PS2's life despite being released years before the demise of the console. Sound and music, excellent.
Imagine a new ZOE with the production values of Metal Gear Solid 4. I'd plain cream my pants.
Sorry i know i'm going completely OT, but did you ever play ZOE2? The original ZOE just pales in comparison tbh. The graphics, enemies, storyline, weapons, controls, attacks and bosses were so much better.

I never played it, but watched it being played. I think at the time I had an option to buy either ZoE2 or another game, possibly God of War, I can't remember, and opted for the latter. Sadly, never got to play ZoE2. But I agree, ZoE2 does better it in terms of graphics and weapons, couldn't comment on controls, obviously.

Zone of The Enders was awesome. Bought it for MGS2 stayed for ZOE! I would actually be more excited for a new ZOE game than Metal Gear game at this point. There just isn't any good mech games these days.

I hope MGS4 is announced for the 360 just to get it over with. I'd also like to see what they'd do to it. Theres no way they'd put it on a single DVD9.
I don't see how anyone could dislike MGS4 for the 360, i mean the fanboys have had it for the best part of the year so surely they wouldn't care. What would get peoples' backs up? A MGS game exclusive to the 360, that'd pee me right off as one of the reasons i bought a PS3 was metal gear.
Common sense would see it as 5 discs for the 5 chapters, although I can't see it requiring 5. Perhaps an installer for cut-scenes and then a disc for the levels?
I agree. The only way this could stir up some fanboyism is if MGS5 was Xbox exclusive to their new console or something.
True all but MGS3 has been multiplatform, it was getting boring everytime there was a conference or "secret" 360 game it causes MGS4 on 360 OMG!!!! reactions. I for one would like to see what they have done to the original MGS4 if(when?) it comes to 360 will all the macs and ipods be replaced by PCs using vista and Zunes? Will Snake use a 360 controller instead of a DS3 when controlling MK2?
I wouldn't mind too much if it was the next gen of xbox that got the MGS exclusive as i could then make my purchasing decision based on that sort of information. What would annoy me is if it happened this generation, i've already made my purchasing decision and would hate to see the viewpoint of 'MGS = PS3' suddenly becoming unture. As i say, would be great if it was MGS4 for the 360 as it's a fantastic game and the more people that get to play it the better, but, the next game being exclusive in this generation? That would be terrible, switching console exclusivity midway through really will rile some people up, myself included, not because i give a crap about what company has the exclusivity but because i've invested a large sum of money in something as it was sold as being the metal gear console.
