Not necessarily, if another process is hosting it. It could be a debug build, in which case there is no "debugging software", rather it's the way the code has been compiled.

AFAIK the RC is also providing MS with telementry data like the betas, so that's unlikely to be the cause.

Try a fresh install.
 
Its not slow enough to re install lol, I can cope with it fine, still faster than vista.

So is RTM release likely to be faster than the RC?

I've not had a problem with my speaker set up and sound card. Sound works perfectly fine...and that's with the drivers from the Creative site...
 
I noticed that there was a new Windows 7 trial the other day. It's a free trial for anyone until June 2010 :D

Well I don't know whether other people have managed this yet but I just got 30 odd minutes of full interupted BF2 punkbuster joy in Windows 7 Ultimate. Managed to configure pnkbsta & b to run in administrator mode with xp sp2 compatability and it runs fine... Was able to connect to 2 punkbuster secured BF2 servers without hassle!
 
Hi, just made the jump to W7 RC 7100, looks pretty good, i like the looks compared to Vista.

just checking if there is anything i should be doing now i have this installed?

i have it installed on my spare laptop, just checkin how the install went and it was brilliant, just over 2hrs which i'm not bothered about :)

i haven't updated via the Automatic Updates in Windows yet, should i?

I had to uninstall mine from the device manager then reboot and let it find it again.

Seems to work okay now.
