Anyone else able to confirm 4850 performance loss? I'm shocked that a newer revision could be so much worse.

* Company of Heroes – performance gains of up to 10% for both single GPU and ATI CrossFireX™ configurations.

* BattleForge– performance gains of up to 10% for ATI CrossFireX™ configurations.

New Features

* AMD has delivered a single unified graphics driver that has received WHQL certification for both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

* Meeting Microsoft’s WHQL certification requirements in the ATI Catalyst
9.5 driver for Windows 7 clearly demonstrates AMD’s focus and determination to deliver an extremely stable and robust Windows 7 experience on AMD’s ATI Radeon Graphics accelerators.

* Delivers full WDDM 1.1 WHQL certified support under Windows 7 on the ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series, ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series, and ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series of products.

ATI Stream™:

* ATI Video encoder update.
* ATI Catalyst 9.5 resolves a number of issues previously seen in the ATI Video Converter and is supported under Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows Vista 64-bit.

* Using ATI Stream technology, owners of ATI Radeon™ HD 4800 Series and ATI Radeon™ HD 4600 Series of graphics cards can take advantage of this video conversion tool (found in ATI Catalyst™ Control Center Basic View) to achieve substantial performance improvements when transcoding video files.

I'm on 2 4850's in crossfire & I've rolled back to the 9.4's. I have only played fallout 3 with the 9.5's but the frame rate was less consistant than the 9.4's

LOL you wait every month for your driver fix and you get slapped in the face by ATI making your card run worse. Had good times with ATI but there drivers and coolers have a lot of catching up to do with Nvidia.

Lol its nothing but the truth though thats the thing. I had all my ati cards watercooled and the drivers were all fine so i cant bash that but the stock coolers were rubbish and countless threads like this make me laugh.

I swap from driver to driver and try and make my own mind up as to which maybe best to use

And i swap ati to nvidia and visa versa depending what's best bang for buck so i have no alliance to either

But i will say this, i can remember when nvidia churned dire drivers out one after another, and not every darn month like ati started to i mean waiting months for a freash driver

Also having to drop back n forth with nvidia drivers to play different games/sims, that's what i call "bad don't bother" lol

No sticking up for ati but at least they do something driver-wise whether good or not so good, and the old saying i find good is "if it aint broke don't fix it"

Last nvidia card i had was the 8800gts 640, decent drivers until i had to hack them and find a remedy for awful uninstaller nvidia slapped in em that had to be rooted out by going deep into the reg and other funky doing's too

If drivers are so duff 99% of ati users will drop back to better driver

Anyways both makers screw up now n again but for me i've had more driver letdowns with nvidia rather than ati thus far

Well i have found nowt drastic either way in the 95's so for me and what i play all's well so far

Oh god here we go again same sad old moans from the same sad old fanboys. No company is perfect in regard to driver's and never has been they both release terrible drivers at times. If you look at it oneway at least with ati i get the choice of twelve drivers and they usually produce 4 or 5 decent ones a year for me to pick from.

I updated to the 9.5's late last night and I woke up this morning to a bsod :(

I'm hoping it's just a fluke because my rig has 'been rock-solid' since the 9.2's. I thought ati had finally fixed it: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17886996&highlight=startername_sam.wheale

I'm going to give if a few more days and see if I get anymore, if I do, I'm rolling back to the 9.4's - they've been the best for me of the recent releases :)

Anyone else having bsod issues?

the 9.5 are as bad as all the other ati drivers so dont bother

I see the standard issue nVidiot fanboy troll posts have arrived.

Seriously guys, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
