Home cinema setup ideas please

Im moving into a top floor flat in 3 weeks, ive been given the go ahead to finally get a home cinema system with a nice projector, so im looking for suggestions for everything from speakers, screen, projector etc. This is the room, as you can see, its a bit of a strange layout due to being a conversion of an old mansion.

My initial idea was to have a motorised or pulldown screen come over the top of the fireplace, theres lots of little nooks and crannies for hiding wires and access to the loft for mounting the projector and screen. Ive set aside about three grand for the whole thing but obviously if i can save money, id be happy to do that in this day and age.

Ill keep the thread updated so once i move in, ill stick up the pics.

Not quite the response i had hoped for

Can anyone recommend a screen and projector within my budget?

I wouldnt have the screen over the fireplace as if you have the fire on, it's gonna damage/blacken the screen.

Yeh i have seen that, but its not a custom cinema room.

I doubt the fire would ever be on, its pretty much decorative, ill have a proper look when im back in the house next week for available spots to put it.

Maybe have it dropping down in front of the window? Quite a few people do this. How wide is the opening there?

Good shout actually, i never thought of that, i dont know exact sizes yet as i dont take control of the house till the 12th june.

indeed. screen in front of the window, equipment in a low-level cabinet under the screen, front speakers either side in front of the walls.

thats a win.

Ill take some pics when im there next week of the other angles of the room, its been about 6 weeks since i was in there, so i cant remember the exact layout, its quite a big room, so there should be ample space to stick everything, but at that window would be good, as the TV will be in the corner.
