Hi all,
After nearly 2 years with my C2D rig I decided to ebay it and build a new one with i7. What psu do you recommend, preferably modular for say under £80? Ocz in my list is got bad reviews. Also should I P6T SE and save some money or any other good m/b? Also will the noctua be ok? Had one very similar on my C2D with no problems. Any other recommendations?

Im sure the noctua will be fine, do you really need 12 gig of RAM? I doubt it unless youre running virtual machines, 6 gig will do, aslo this stuff would save you a bit of money which you could use to upgrade other things, maybe get a 4870x2 if youre a gamer and using 24"+ screen
For £2 more you can get the retail CPU incl longer warranty, stock HSF (maybe use as a paperweight or something? lol) and Farcry2

thanks for the CPU idea...did not know the warranty is longer ? I was thinking if better ram makes different for overclocking... I am not an extreme overclocker just something standard and easy...maybe from 2.66 to 3 would be ok

have a look at the Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir CPU cooler.

any 12800 memory will do tbh.

have a look at the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R mobo.

maybe worth a look at the Asus Xonar D2 7.1 sound card.

agree with 95th about the retail cpu.

dont like the gigabyte m/b because of only 4 ram slots
not really worth 7.1 soundcard as I only use headphones
thanks, will get only 6gb ram for now and the cheaper one
