3 Sata drives (various)
DVD-RW Drive
Antec Nine Hundred

My problem is that i dont know if i am leaving myself much to play with getting the 500watt and is there any huge differences apart from one type being modular to justify the £20ish difference between the two 600watts. sort on the pennys!

Depends if you are going to upgrade in the future, and whether they are small upgrade or big performance upgrades?
The 500w modular psu is a steal at £52 though.

The 500w will run your system fine. And should* (don't hold me against it), run a 4850 instead of the 8800gt.
If you don't want to spend more than ~£65 on it, then just go for the 500w modular because that's a great price, and if you want a much better system then you can always get a new psu in the future, and then use the 500w for another build or something.

You need to be looking at the corsair 650w. It's a propper quality unit and will see you able to upgrade to any single card solution at a later point.

listen to the man, but, if you want to buy a psu to last you 4 years plus buy a 1000w or close to a 1000w psu, a modular one by a good named company could be good because if a new tech would come out, (which they do, every other week or so) you might be able to buy just the cable (i did say might)

but like fat boy said if you want to expand, I.E. an extra graphic card, (crossfire/sli) you will have the power

The 1000w PSU is a bit pointless if you ask me. Every PSU has an output range where it's at its most efficient - that system won't draw more than about 200-300w, which is too small a load for a 1000w PSU to deliver with high efficiency. If you got the Corsair 650w, not only would it be cheaper but it would constantly save you money on electric, since it would produce the necessary power more efficiently. Then if you really need the 1000w PSU in four years' time, you can buy it then and take advantage of the advances in PSU tech and the changes in connectors that will come up in the meantime.
