Camping at Whittlebury Park (Silverstone)

Just after some advice and experience of Whittlebury Park at Silverstone as a camping venue for a weekend of motorsport. What are they like in terms of things like site/facilities/bbq's/noise/price/etc. It will be for the Le Mans Series in September.

You have to keep schtum after IIRC 10pm, but on the whole its a nice place to camp, prices aren't bad as long as you don't want to be there for a Grand Prix, and the faclities are kept clean and well maintained.

We certainly had no issues with our ghetto, hole in the floor, fire/bbq!
 
I camped there for the FIA GT at the start of may and was making noise way past 10 both nights and had no issues. Infact there were a load of lads who had a massive bbq and had there sub going late into the night .... not sure if thats a good or a bad thing for you skeeter and perhaps they enforce this a little more for the bigger events ... Infact i camped for the renault world series last year and they had a massive beer tent and band which went on way past 10 :D

Its a good little venue :)
 
I managed to sleep through the campsites at Spa last year for the F1, so I dont think anything at the LMS will keep me up. Im more interested in bein able to sit around with a bbq and beers and mates with some music without getting slapped wrists for being 'rebellious young scaliwags'... :)

Sounds like its a decent place.
 
Is there leccy' for each plot? I say this in a totally manly way because I need cold beer and fresh milk for a brew in the morning.
 
Mate ive never had an issue from the campsite, had a few grumpy old men but i allways make sure we go out of the way so if they choose to come that close to us then its there issue and i couldent give a toss ! LMS wont be "that" busy say in comparison to the F1 so theres plenty of space

Muffin you pussy its all about warm beer and no showers ;) I should throw a thread up for an ocuk camping weekend for the LMS as i really want to go and we normally do at least one camping thing a year ....

Go on sam. A few of us are sorting going this week, so you definately wont be on your own. I was going to possibly open an OcUK thread, but I lack the knowledge of camping at Silverstone, and I also dont know enough people on here IRL to get engagement in anything id suggest.

OcUK Camping Trip!!! I'm up for that if Paradigm can get me some free tickets again! :p

I may need 4 tickets this time though. One for my mate and possibly Tom and Wez!
 
Hmm... Silverstone for WSR or the 'Ring.... tuff choice im sure :)

How may cars/tents can you fit on a 'plot' (I say plot, as it looks more like just a gert big field).
 
They dont mark out your plot they just say one car one tent ! I asked them if i could get 2 small tents on my plot and they said it was fine. Its all very relaxed really, the only event they will be strict on is the GP

Yea the ring or rws mmmm hard choice ;)
 
Cool, as I think the few of us who are going will likely be 4 guys in 4 small tents in 2 cars... so 2 plots then.
