Google Office - Zurich

They've got a canteen and funny chairs. I'm jealous.

Also I'm sure those photos are several years old, in spite of the date on the article.

Man that place looks like an awesome place to work. But how would you be able to be go into a another office after working there:

Ex-Google person "So where are your bath tubs filled with foam for me to relax in?"
New boss "Erm, what...?"

Nice office. Well, it'd have to be considering they spend most of their lives there. I don't think Google is the corporate wet-dream that most aspiring IT bods hope it to be. I'd imagine its damned hard work, being part of a company that is literally at the forefront of tech.

One word that comes to mind is "Brainstorm". Looks like the office is just geared up for that purpose only.

The only downside to that is the expectation that you'll barely leave the office because you don't really need too.

Still, many employers need to learn to treat their employees at least half as well as that.

I'd rather work 9-5 in a relatively mediocre office than spend my entire life and free time working in Google.

Is there something i've missed? Why would you have to spend your entire life and free time there? I'm sure you could still go home after 5?

Fully agree with this, cant understand why people are slagging that office off so much, unless you work at the fun fair or zoo surely there cant be a more exciting place to work in. Or do people on this thread prefer to work in drab, sterile, mundane surroundings

Indeed, you can bring pets/kids etc with you too so it's unlikely you'll spend most of your life there lol.

There is a mid-ground, y'know. :p

Yeah, that office looks rubbish. I'd rather work at a rubbish tip sifting through for hyperdermic needles and human waste than spend my time there....:rolleyes:

What the hell is wrong with some of you?

Most if not all of you would probably donate a testicle to work for an employer who treat its staff that well! Oh and lets not forget putting down "Google" on the C.V doesn't exactly make you look bad...

Yeah I know what you mean, but if you were given the choice of working there in great looking surroundings or working in a standard generic office, why wouldnt you choose the better surroundings? I just dont get why people are hating that place so much, it looks perfectly awesome to me and you do spend most of your life at work so why not make it as happy and fluffy as possible :D

I guess you can go at 5, but you wont have any time to enjoy your surroundings as you'll be getting your 8-10 hours in at your desk. The people chilling on guitar hero are probably working until 10pm, then probably sleeping there :D
